What I do when I feel I'm way too obsessed with photographing my dolls - I try find something else to do.
And these past days I've been sketching on my mini Daily Moleskine sketchbook. I used mostly watercolor pencils and gouache. I like sketching my dolls and other themes too. Not great drawings, but I wanted to share anyway what I've been doing on my tiny diary to kill time in a relaxing way. :p
When I fill up all the pages I will do a flipthrough time lapse video as I've seen some ppl did on YouTube.
And my dear friend Jane (Little little mouse), your Hesta inspired me the pose and gaze of my little red hair girl wearing a cardigan! ;)
Have a lovely sunday everyone!
By now you've probably heard we have a book out for our 10th Anniversary. Did you also know there's a Special Edition coming out soon? The SE comes in a nifty case that has a soft texture and a burnout illustration on it. The book itself has a cloth-bound hardcover and a bookmark ribbon. On top of that goodness, there's a satiny hardcover sketchbook, where you can sketch all your billions of tee ideas.
There is another hat missing (another hat that basically looks exactly like no. 22 just 6 stitches bigger) and a red skirt (that looks exactly like the brown skirt in no. 9). Wow, I did a lot of garment sewing and/or altering this year.
Ten things in this photos were gifts for others, which is great on the one hand, but on the other hand, I did a bunch of knitting that I kept none of. It'd be nice to finish some of the things on the list for ME this year. ;) Heh.
1. Booties for Baby Lugo, booties for a coworker who had a long long long awaited new baby
2. Cowl for coworker blocked and dry., cowl for a coworker that was raved about even if never worn
3. Hat is done., hat for a corworker who then told the kids it was "OK" (several kids would have quite happily taken that hat off his "OK" hands)
4. Summertime Firefly Dress, I've worn this one quite a bit altho the lack of darts makes those drag lines bug me but hey
5. Another Beatrix dress!, I wore this quite a bit as well
6. Pillow for Antonio, I wonder if he still has this?
7. Wearable muslin: A-line top, I never wear this but it did its job as a muslin
8. Altered: knit dress top + washi dress bottom, I've worn this a few times but it feels very short. It's definitely a hot days of summer dress.
9. Altered: old dress = new skirt!, Wore a TON this summer. It now has dye stains on it (from working in the salon) so it's a salon summer wear skirt.
10. New basic T, Wear a TON.
11. Altered: Ruffle Top --> Ruby, I've worn a few times.
12. New shirt in the wild!, Wear a TON. LOVE.
13. Two new yellow pillowcases!, They do their job :) Heh.
14. TA-DA! Flying Geese Patchwork Bucket Bag, I loved making this but I never use it. MIght give it away.
15. Project Life 2015, hyperlapse flipthrough!, Still love flipping through these albums but undecided if I'll make one in 2017. (2016's is half done at this point.)
16. Tickets Scrapbook 2013-1987: All. Done., Better than having a ratty paperbag stuffed full of these stubs, right?
17. Sleeping bag pencil pouch, I use it but if it gets too full, it's kinda finicky. It was a tester to see if I'd make that pouch for some girls I owe a prize to but I'm going to end up using a different style pattern instead.
18. Alabama Chanin A-line tunic finished, only partially hand stitched., I've worn this but I like it a lot better with a cardigan. Not a great matchup of fabric + pattern, that knit is really heavy, doesn't drape well.
19. Dress no. 1 or "Ariel" as my pattern calls it, I've worn this a bit.
20. Beauteous hat., This was a very meaningful gift for me and hopefully the recipient loves it but it's hard to say, there are a lot of mixed messages
21. Hat for Alex, I spent a lot of time last year HEARING about football and a lot of time this year attending or TRYING to attend football games and these hats had a lot of love poured into them
22. Hat for Natalie, same (I spent a lot of time last year HEARING about football and a lot of time this year attending or TRYING to attend football games and these hats had a lot of love poured into them )
23. Hat for Mr Martinez, same (I spent a lot of time last year HEARING about football and a lot of time this year attending or TRYING to attend football games and these hats had a lot of love poured into them )
24. Turns out some people have bigger heads than me!, same (I spent a lot of time last year HEARING about football and a lot of time this year attending or TRYING to attend football games and these hats had a lot of love poured into them )
25. Shoofly for Mila, Can't wait to gift this on Monday!!
26. Shoofly for Marcos, Mila's twin Can't wait to gift this on Monday!!

Finally finished my 2015 project life album!! When I picked it up last week, it was done through September. So I whipped through Oct earlier in the week and finished Nov-Dec this afternoon. Can't remember too much of what happened those months and don't seem to have carefully saved artifacts as in the past. So I had to rely on what photos I had in Aperture (altho I figured out later that some of my instagram photos weren't in there! Did I accidentally delete them from my phone before doing a monthly upload? Who knows at this point!) and basically I didn't do much with embellishments or stamping or anything, I just put in photos and GOT IT DONE. :) YAY.
I just got an advanced copy of Hereville, and I'm thrilled! Amazing to actually hold the thing in my hands after all this time working on it.
I tried out Tosenme restaurant on Rufino St. in Salcedo Village, Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines, last month.
This place specializes in food from the Xinjiang region of China. They also have an entirely separate menu just for Vietnamese food, although I didn't have time to try any of those.

I compiled a photobook this July 2020 containing some of my favorite photographs that I made from 2016 to 2020.
Thank you to my friend Janus (www.instagram.com/janusvictoria/) for helping me with this.
Here are my past photobook flip-throughs. I put them on Flickr because YouTube took them down due to the music I used. I put together these flip throughs so long ago before YouTube got strict about background music.

I thought to make a flip through of this CD because I love the liner notes and this is one of my favorite albums, both music and CD presentation, and it contains one of my favorite songs of all time, 1979.
Recorded 4/14, edited 4/17/2020. I photographed all my cassettes and CDs and labeled and edited the photos from April 12 to April 17, 2020, during my Covid-19 quarantine/ lockdown here in the Philippines.

Recorded 4/13, edited 4/17/2020. I thought to make a flip through of this cassette tape because I liked that it came with a little zine inside. From the American Educator Encyclopedia, 1952
This book seems to be a selection of the "highlights" from this set of encylopedias, intended as marketing material to get the customer to purchase the entire set. As such, it is filled mostly with great diagrams and photos. The book is bound with binding posts.

For my Extended Project Qualification, I decided to produce a bright and engaging graphic booklet on the topic of Utopia, aimed at a young audience. This was my compromise between creating a piece of art (an artefact) and doing an essay. All images are edited photographs and paintings taken and created by myself, along with the production of all layouts and writing.

STUDENT PIECES - photography of the Typography exhibition at the 2020 University of Reading end of year show.
This was part of my final photography project senior year in high school. The models are from Urban Outfitters and the other picture is one that I took, using film.
