Elegant Tern flipping a fish

I was not going to take this image folks, just sitting on a snag on the side of the road when I pulled up, I said hello and then he decided to flip me off, the nerve of him.

Thanks to all for everything.

While flipping through my archive in search of a cheerful photo to ring in the weekend, I stumbled upon this mallard beauty queen. When I saw her at Planten un Blomen, a lovely park in central Hamburg, posing so nicely on a rock at a small pond, I knew I had to take her photo. Isn't she pretty? I could swear that she was smiling at me :)

Wishing you a wonderful weekend, dear Flickr friends :)

Took a wee while to get the perfect shot, hope you like it :)

Another South Harrison County Park capture, a Titmouse. He was flipping leaves like a madman and feeding well on the larve and worms below.

Yellow-vented Bulbul

Rainy season and heavy overflowing of water push all sorts of marsh and pond animals off to the land. Just last year, I found a fish flipping up and down on our street, grabbed it barehanded and took it back to the pond. A turtle in the middle of the road and asked the ‘noodle man’ vendor's help to take it to the temple. A friend and I stopped the traffic to let the baby monitor lizard by and many more.

One morning on my way to work, I found this crab stuck on the side of a motorbike at the car park. I thought of helping it out to find its way back to the pond and fearing it would be run over by a vehicle, but obviously we got off at the wrong claw. When I was 7, I got pinched by a smaller crab and I could still remember the pain. Anyhow, managed to get a dustpan and a broom.....it was a happy ending for both us.

The P42DC wasn't the nicest looking locomotive in that hideous paint job, but it got the job done.

Man hole cover up at the water tower. If I look at this one for long enough it inverts. I do enjoy a nice geometric optical illusion :)

Catch, bash and flip, before swallowing whole!

I can’t tell if it’s the start of a day or the end of one. All I know is this — you’re invited to pause here, with the calm water and the quiet glow, and let time rest for a while.

I’ve always loved images where I can feel an emotional connection. After flipping through perhaps ten thousand or more photographs I’ve taken over the past few years, I’ve noticed a few that didn’t catch my eye at the time but slowly grew on me as the years passed. This is one of them.

Wild American Alligator on the Shipyard Golf Club greens giving me the middle finger, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

This is a photo of a pattern on a coastal rock that appears to be a pareidolia portrait of a rude, sneering person flipping the finger.

Literally a cool sign in Winnipeg that creates a spot of shade with the word cool in the middle. This image is flipped hortizontally so that the text reads correctly. The "cool" is backwards on the sign so that it reads correctly in the shadow cast on the ground.

One of the parade’s classic staples, the upside-down clowns, still flipping the route on its head. Their bright red and purple costumes bounce with every step, painted faces grinning from the ground up. A burst of colour and chaos from The Original Santa Claus Parade — the kind of joyful tradition Toronto waits for all year.
