After a month or two break from photography I decided to revisit my camera. Turnberry lighthouse was a subject I've had on my mind for a while. I headed down the south west coast of Scotland at 4am to the now named Trump Turnberry golf resort, starting in the village I walked down to the beach in darkness and walked alongside the golf course via the Ayrshire Coastal path. When I arrived at the lighthouse i set up praying for a nice sunset after several bad weeks of weather. Thankfully I think it paid off and was rewarded with some beautiful pastel soft tones. Thanks you for visiting and I hope everyone is well.
Taken down in Cumbria last weekend. I was blessed with some beautiful golden hour light when this male landed.

An early morning hill walk up Buachaille Etive Beag. Was a special experience seeing the end of a sunrise after climbing through cloud. This was taken from the top of Stob Dubh.

🇬🇧 Between two columns, a man sits alone, selling his miniature wares in the soft shadows of the arcade. No crowd, no rush—just a posture of waiting, dignified and still. In the geometry of stone and silence, his presence becomes monumental.

🇫🇷 Entre deux colonnes, un homme assis vend ses miniatures dans l’ombre douce de l’arcade. Pas de foule, pas d’agitation — juste l’attente, dans une posture digne et silencieuse. Dans la géométrie du granit et du silence, sa présence devient monument.
🇮🇹 Tra due colonne, un uomo siede in solitudine, vendendo piccole miniature all’ombra dell’arcata. Nessuna folla, nessuna fretta — solo l’attesa, silenziosa e fiera. Tra le pietre e la calma, la sua figura diventa quasi scultorea.
The next part of our trip included an unplanned last minute change. We decided to drive from Applecross to Toscaig, park at the pier then head off on the 6k walk to Uags Bothy. Despite it being only 6k this was a difficult one, unclear path, uneven terrain, bogs and heather to navigate over I nearly tripped a few times. We also had 25kg of coal on our back as we wanted a fire at the bothy as we researched it had a stove. It too about 2.5 hours in total but well worth it when we arrived. This location is known to have some of the best bothy views in Scotland. When we arrived we were treated to views across the Inner Sound to Skye and Raasay. Fire on then dram in hand. A wonderful end to our trip.
A stressful day at work prompted me to take a drive up to Stonehaven near Aberdeen. Plan was to get some Astro shots of Dunottar Castle, however as always with Astro photography the plan didn't quite work out. As I packed up and heading back along the coastal path I could see the green banter of the northern lights nicely framed over the Stonehaven war monument. Was able to get a few shots off.
I have been going through a bit of an obsession with Glencoe recently. I'm taking advantage of the fact it's only an hour drive from me. The heavy snow Scotland has had made me want to visit. I stopped at the popular spot of Rannoch Moor by the road to capture Lochan na h-Achlaise which was completely frozen in the snow. Was nice to see some other photographers at pre dawn with the same idea. I hope everyone had a good new year.
After a full day if travelling the beautiful island of Mull, visiting Iona and taking a boat trip to Staffa we headed back to our accommodation. As we drove past Salen the sunset hit and it was truly magnificent. This location was close the sound of Mull.
🇬🇧 Stone and fabric. Weight and softness. The rhythm of the arches and the hush of the curtains tell a story of summer light in the city.

Managed to get a nice shot of the stars above Dunnottar castle before the northern lights appeared. A bit of a tricky shot as there was haze and mist rising from the sea.
Machir Bay is one of Islay's premier beaches. Even on a moody, gloomy day with ok light the shine and gloss of the beach was stunning.
Nice drive over to the east coast of Scotland today to visit Belhaven bridge. I mistimed my set up as high tide had passed not long before my arrival, meaning I missed the chance to isolate the bridge with water. Still happy with the shot and as they say a sunrise lifts any photo!
Lovely evening light just before sunset presented the opportunity to grab a shot as he lifted his hed above the grassland.
