Surprised that no one has posted a shot of skin - the most easily accessible and very flexible object that can be photographed. This is a shot of a section of my palm. The logistics involved in getting this shot was quite tricky!

Ce fut une très belle surprise quand ce pic mar mâle s'est posé sur un arbre à côté de la mare aux batraciens juste en face de moi. Comme j'envie sa souplesse des cervicales.
It was a very nice surprise when this male middle spotted woodpecker landed on a tree next to the amphibian pond just in front of me. How I envy his flexibility of the cervical vertebrae.

I must say, I was shocked when I saw how nighttime changes an owl's face. While they become fearsome predators at night, they also become much more adorable to us humans, who have evolved to perceive large eyes as captivating and innocent.
In an effort to find area barred owls, I set out to a local park before sunrise and came upon this Eastern Screech Owl (Megascops asio) in the dark. This darkness was so inky and thick, in fact, that I could not see if he was in his hole or not, so trained my tripoded camera on the hole, manually focused, and finally saw him in the preview window! Shocked for sure by those massive pupils staring down at me, a frog (which he swallowed greedily prior to this photo and while I watched) in his talons!
Interestingly, owl eyeballs are not balls at all, but so well evolved for night vision that they have elongated into eye cones. For this reason, they cannot move their eyes in their sockets, and have evolved wildly-flexible necks. With their highly acute retinas replete with rods (the light and movement sensing eye bits), there wasn't much room for cones, and so most owls see limited or no color!
Banh da is a kind of noodle in Vietnam. The main ingredients are rice flour (many places use cassava, corn, green beans ... or mixed together) with the liquid. There for it with a little tapioca for a reasonable rate to get more flexible, less paper-thin and easily broken if too much cassava (tapioca) will make the noodle are sour. There is also the other additives such as sesame, salt, pepper, garlic, coconut, onion, sugar ... depending on the places
A possibility for the Macro Mondays theme of flexible. There are three possibilities- now to dither, although I’m leaning toward the silver links bracket with the little red heart bead…..
…..Dithering done- decided on this one bc I haven’t had one with a bit of blue for a couple of weeks.. grin
Happy Monday & HMM!
Thanks for your visit, most appreciated.
今日は月曜日、Macro Mondaysの今日のお題は"flexible"(曲げても、元通りになる)ということで親友からもらったマスクホルダーをマスクの上で撮ってみました。
My best friend gave me a flexible mask holder the other day to put on the mask and it is exquisitely convenient when we drink/eat. I gave her a hand gel in this sensitive time. Taken on the mask.
Buzzards are large birds with broad rounded wings and a short tail. They are typically brown, often with a light necklace beneath the breast and white undersides to the wings. However, the species’ appearance is highly variable with some birds having far more white feathers than others. A buzzard’s beak is sharp and hooked and it has large feet with sharp talons. It has a wingspan of around 120cm and weighs up to 1kg.
Buzzards are opportunistic predators and can take a wide variety of prey. Small rodents such as voles and mice are commonly eaten, but they can also take prey as large as rabbits or as small as earthworms. They will also scavenge on road kill. This flexible diet allows the buzzard to survive in a variety of habitats.
For today's theme, I wanted to use an extremely flexible object by choosing "Slinkies" which with their intrinsic movement of great flexibility and beauty are also capable of creating refraction of light and reflections in a kaleidoscope of colours.

The Cormorant is a family of medium-to-large aquatic birds found worldwide that are expert fishers known for their characteristic posture of standing with wings outstretched to dry.
Appearance:
Cormorants are generally large, dark-plumaged birds with a long, thick, and flexible neck, giving them a somewhat "prehistoric" or "reptilian" appearance. They have a long, thin bill that ends in a sharp hook, perfectly suited for catching fish. Most species have webbed feet with all four toes joined.
Size:
Size varies by species, but the Great Cormorant, a widespread species, typically measures 80-100 cm (31-39 in) in length with a wingspan of 130-160 cm (51-63 in).
Habitat and Distribution: They are highly adaptable and found in a wide variety of aquatic environments, including ocean coasts, estuaries, large rivers, and freshwater lakes and reservoirs across the world, except for the central Pacific islands.
Diet and Hunting: Cormorants are carnivorous, feeding primarily on fish, but also amphibians, crustaceans, and eels. They hunt by diving from the water's surface and propelling themselves underwater using their powerful webbed feet. They can dive to impressive depths, sometimes up to 45 meters (150 feet), and use their hooked bills to seize prey.
Unique Behaviors and Facts
Wing-Drying Posture:
One of the most recognizable cormorant behaviors is perching with their wings spread wide in the sun. This is because their feathers are not fully waterproof (which helps them reduce buoyancy for diving more efficiently), so they need to dry them afterwards.
