I keep this in my pantry to hang reminders, notices, etc. Discovered it this morning while looking for possible postcards I might have kept. Postcards are fast becoming extinct due to our phones, social media, etc. Looking back, I wish I had kept mine.
Not to mention, looking back at all of the places my friends and family visited years ago.
Sunset rays glinting on the decorative tops of the vertical bars of an old gate. Spotted in my local suburb.
Fleur de lis arrowheads adorning the top of a pair of open gates in the driveway of a house in my neighbourhood.
Rusty metalwork forming a Fleur de Lis shape on a wooden door, turning green, at my village church.
Entered in Buckingham Camera Club's Print Competition for 2021 (Round 1 Close-up). It scored 15/20.
It has been kind of rare for us to get cool enough weather to have a little fire in New Orleans, so it was with much joy that we had one recently! I am pretty sure our neighbors thought we were going to burn the house down! Never an issue. LOL! :)

These wild Blue Flag Iris's were quite lovely but didn't present with a composition that I liked. A heavy hand in editing, however, produced a more creative result that reminded me of Oscar-Claude Monet's impressionist style. He may not approve of my feeble efforts but for now, I'll pay tribute to him by calling it, Oscar's Iris.
Meet Nola, a work of art in the giraffe sort of way. Sometimes you just have to have a little bit of whimsical art in the midst of tough times . . .
Waiting for the traffic to clear to cross main street. Is that a camera bag strap on the shoulder???
We saw this lovely fountain while just driving around in New Orleans- because that is all there is to do when there is a pandemic, except work at the house! We took a nice little break!
HFF!
Our wonderful little Chloe passed away tonight. She had diabetes, was blind, and selectively deaf. She has been our companion through some really hard times in our lives. Our hearts are broken and we will miss her forever.
I took this back in July of this year (2019)- you can see she may have been a little spoiled. She was a great traveler, too, and enjoyed many times on the way and at our other home in New Orleans.

. . . belonged to my maternal grandfather who was an immigrant that came the way of Ellis Island. He ran a general store in the early 1920's until the 1950's, while raising and providing for 11 children with my grandmother. I recall them celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary when I was 13 years old. I also remember the old store with the rickety floor. And the sound of the giant front door when it opened and closed.
