The Flatiron Building is one of my favorite houses. The unique façade and design are something very special for me. Though I can not explain why.

Our famous Boulder Flatirons shot while visiting Chautauqua Park. We were lucky there was a lull in our wind and the temps were very mild. These rocks were named after the old flat iron, irons that lady's (or men) would use to do their

laundry with.

I'm not for sure what the purpose of the fence was but I think it's there to remind people to stay on the trails.

English

The Flatiron Building, originally known as the Fuller Building, is a 22-story, 87-meter-tall historic building located at 175 Fifth Avenue. Designed by Daniel Burnham and Frederick Dinkelberg, it became one of the tallest buildings in the city upon its completion in 1902.

Considered one of the world's most iconic skyscrapers and an essential symbol of New York City, the building stands on the south side of Madison Square and at the northern end of the historic Ladies' Mile district. It also lends its name to the surrounding neighborhood, the Flatiron District. The building was designated a New York City landmark in 1966.

Like many other wedge-shaped buildings in English-speaking countries, its name derives from its resemblance to a clothes iron.
