Summer 1976. This photo was taken on our then sailboat, the Ginny Jay (named for my mom -- how sweet!). I was an only child for a few more months, and after the arrival of my twin sisters, my parents felt that a 3 year old and two babies did not make adequate sailing companions.

1945-46 i think. #flashbackfriday my grandmother lucille. or as her husband (my step-grandfather) called her: sassafras. she was a telephone switchboard operator for 25 years for Ma Bell - through the war and beyond. she loved cats, knitting, lavendar and candy. when i was 6 and we lived in Cali, she hand-washed a girly cardigan sweater she bought (at sears) and i promptly took it outside, took the end of each sleeve and jump roped with it. my a$$ was never the same.

Wanted to have a bookend for "Happy Monday" so nothing like dipping into the archives for a look back. I'll start with me and a photo taken at my Grandmother's home in Tijuana. From the looks of it, I might have been 2 or barely 3 as I played with her dog (one of the only dogs I ever liked).
