Unlike their close relatives the drunken tulips, flame tulips really know how to bring a party to life even if they are short lived. NB11422 - Happy Tulip Tuesdays!
Good evening everyone,
It's been a busy week for me juggling 2 jobs but I'm hanging in there and things are going pretty good.
Sometimes work can take over your life but you just have to do it for the time being.
Don't think too much and appreciate that you can do it.
This year I try not to think as much as I used to.
Tonight I'm experimenting with fire ...months ago I was drawn to the water element ...this month January I feel drawn to the fire element.
Maybe because it is so cold in London right now.
In order to shine you must be your own light.
Today and tomorrow
let yourself shine always:)
Warm Light and Love
XXX
Taken at Waukivory, NSW, Australia on the weekend. As the flames were constantly moving and changing I applied some motion blur to this shot to see how the effect worked.
As always, thanks for any comments, views or favorites, they are much appreciated!

Shot for Macro Mondays, theme "Flame".
This was not as easy as I thought. The flame is easily spotted but how to capture it as a macro without seriously damaging your equipment. I solved it by placing a heat-resistant glass pane next to the fire and then moving in quickly, shoot, and withdraw again. I did two shots and called myself lucky to get out undamaged :)
The picture is not very nice though, the flame itself created a serious burn in the shot.
A single flame lights the way. The sun setting behind the lake. A warm night by the pool with a cold beer, watch out for the croc!
Flame Robin (male)
Petroica phoenicea
September 21st, 2025
Mount Donna Buang, Victoria, Australia
Canon EOS R5 Mark II
Canon RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM lens
A male Flame Robin stands motionless in a small clearing, patiently watching for the first sign of prey amidst the scattered rocks.
The third version of flame was probably my favorite, for my rebuild I took inspiration from the set rather than the show.
