At the border between British Columbia and Alberta, on the Highway 93 between Banff and Windermere - stunning mountains, and some rather fine flags too !
(The flag on the left is from British Columbia)
These three flags are near DuSable harbor and our near the placard letting you know this is where the Chicago River meets Lake Michigan.

As ubiquitous as I'd been given to expect. Actually these big flags do look really impressive against a dramatic sky, and I liked the gold eagle at the top of the flagpole here.

The first RNLI flag was designed in 1884 by Leonora Preston, after the rescue of her brother. The flag was formally adopted by the RNLI in 1908.
"In 1953, after the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, the RNLI changed the crown in the centre of the flag from the Tudor style, as worn by King George VI, to the St Edward’s crown worn by the newly appointed monarch." [the crown is not visible in this photo.]

To celebrate Flag Day on June 13, for the 8th straight year the U.S. Embassy's Public Diplomacy Section organized a competition with high school students to develop depictions of all 50 U.S. States and the District of Columbia. Nearly 300 enthusiastic high school students took part in the competition which took place at the Ambassador’s residence where they exhibited the displays they created to illustrate various representative elements of each of the states, in order to convey the message for this year’s theme: “America’s Strength: The Diversity of Its People”. First time participating, this year's high schools were: Gheorghe Lazar (Bucharest), Mihai Viteazul (Bucharest), Nicolae Balcescu (Oltenita), Decebal (Bucharest) and Ion Neculce (Bucharest). The winners received American books, music and movies (Lucian Crusoveanu / Public Diplomacy Office)
The Texas flag is the only state flag that can legally fly at the same height as the United States flag. That said, I find it odd that it flies below the U.S. flag at the Capitol Building. I think that the fact that it is flow below the U.S. flag at the Capitol Building may be symbolic, but I'm not certain.

The flags on display at the CND Wrap up Trident MArch, January 24th 2015.
Wrap up Trident was a CND run protest march on the 24th January 2015. This was my first protest, both photographing it and participating. When I left my house for the hour long journey into central London I was hit by a sense of excitement and trepidation, hoping I could get good photos from a one off event. It took some time to find the base of the protest, outside the MOD, building Whitehall but I was still the first photographer there. Everyone was more than happy to be photographed while carrying the 2 mile peace scarf, marching to Old Palace square and at the Rally.
I have been very encouraged by this event to go and cover future protests.
