Shots from my first trip to Japan in April, 2001. Flags at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine in Kamakura.
This Flag flew across the street from where we watched the Lost Dutchman Days Parade in Apache Junction, Arizona. The skies were drab gray so offered no definition or color.

Abandoned town, about ten miles from Sisimiut (since the 1950s). Even here, they keep the flag flying.

June 14-Flag Day! Let's see some flags! (Does not have to be a National flag, can be any flag!)
I always fly my Star Spangle Banner but on special occasions, I unfold and allow a couple of others to shine in the light of day. One that I fly quite a bit is my POW-MIA in flag. Though I have never served this country in the Military, my family has, I am from a very proud and loyal military family and I am a proud American. My oldest brother served in the Marines in Vietnam and he lost several friends there. One was MIA. It hurts to now that we have men and women still missing and being held prisoner. That upsets me and saddens me and really makes me mad. That is why I fly this flag, till every one is returned home. That is the flag flying on my balcony today.
A tattered American flag flies on a foggy day in Dorchester County, Maryland. Photographed in the Toddville area.
These flags fly proudly at one of KY's rest stops. A famous man once said " It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible." That man was George Washington.

Yes, it WAS windy! At the top of the tower the sustained winds were probably in the 30-40 mph range while gusts were topping 50 mph. It was one heck of a view and well worth the ffort, but I had to go inside the tower to change lenses, and I took off my hat and attached it to my bag strap to keep it from returning to Ohio before me.

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
