It is amazing to see how people squeeze their new homes on any property they can acquire along the shoreline. This home is tall, thin and staggered to fit on this small piece of land on Georgian Bay. I thought it was cute how the trees barely try to hide the home from the busy road. They obviously love the colour red!
Another of the dilapidated wrecks to be found on the Cabrach area of moorland twixt Aberdeenshire and Moray North East Scotland. A probable remnant of the clearances, but from which era of clearances I have no idea. A lot of upland hill farms became unmanageable after WWI as so few men returned in a fit state to carry out the arduous work required, the upland farmsteads fell by the wayside and this is what we see so much of today.

Snowberry Clearwing Moth fitting just right into the flower of a Black & Bloom Salvia. The flower looks big compared to the moth. My backyard, Central Bucks PA.
L'église tout entière devait probablement être décorée de mosaïques, mais elles ne furent achevées que dans la zone du chœur , ainsi que dans l'abside et environ la moitié des murs latéraux. Roger II fit venir de Constantinople des maîtres dans l'art de la mosaïque, qui ont adapté leur art décoratif byzantin traditionnel à une structure architecturale venue du nord de l'Europe.
La figure dominante de l'ensemble décoratif est le Christ Pantocrator en buste, levant la main en signe de bénédiction, sur la demi-coupole de l'abside. Dans sa main gauche, il tient l’Évangile de Jean, dans lequel on peut lire, en grec et en latin: « Je suis la lumière du monde, ceux qui me suivront n'erreront pas dans les ténèbres, mais auront la lumière de la vie » (Jean , 8:12).

When it's a good fit for you and a dog, I think the important thing to them is more just to be with you than anything else. So it seemed with these two walking back to shore in the shallows after an evening paddle.
We had come here for a sunset shoot - only to find the clouds intensified despite a forecast of some clearing. Another couple there for the same reason commented that the previous two or three nights, it had been spectacular. Sigh! At least it was nice just to be outside on a warm evening.
