Which do I choose?
Too strong a dose (9.5g/kg Raid) might kill the cockroaches before they get back to the nest... too weak a dose (2.5g/kg Mortein) might breed resistance!

I think I have been going through a 'Dolly Depression'. A few weeks ago, my little Pukikfee arrived in the mail. I was so excited to finally have her! I had spent months planning what to buy her, and I started working on a bedroom diorama before she even got here. I was super inspired to work on a miniature world and had plans for other tiny dolls. When I opened her I was so thrilled, she was better than I expected! But then something happened and the love died. :c I guess it started because I just could not think of a character for her. I cannot think of a good role for her to play, and a story behind her. So I ended up putting her aside, and she is laying in her box. Her diorama is sitting out, unfinished.
I don't get it! Pong is cute and energetic, I love those kind of sculpts and characters! I guess it really is not being able to figure her out that is keeping me from bonding.
I do have 1 character that I developed in my early teens, she's a fox demon girl named Rinku. I would love to make her into a pukifee, or a lati. But of course I really don't want to sell my Pong. Maybe I'll buy a faceplate that can borrow her body, and if I like it I'll get it's own body.
How do you develop characters? I feel like my dolls are more about looks with me than who they are. And I spend all of my time over what they'll wear next - which keeps me from bonding with them. FirstWorldProblems - I know, hehe.
Tis the season for big drinkings.. fa la la la la la la. We got our first big snow storm of the season today here in Brandon, MB. So much snow that the bus nearly slid twice because of icy roads. One thing about winter is that it can bring one positive advantage: ability to chill beer in snow quite quickly.
I decided to use the snow to my advantage and chill a bottle of Rickard's newest seasonal beer, Oakhouse Winter Lager part of their 4-part seasonal series and followup to their kind of hipster looking Rickard's Cardigan Autumn Lager. Chilling snow was good.. but ended up icing my beer, so it was too cold #firstworldproblem.
I let the ice die down a bit, and now it's time to review:
Appearance: Because I froze it in snow too long, it's coming a bit clumped beer ice with some ice cold beer. As it quickly warmed up, it clears up and gives off a honey lager appearance, like a Sleeman honey, but lighter hue. Thick beigey foam thanks to the ice that's settled at the top but diminishes gradually.
Aroma: If I hadn't known that this was Oakhouse, I would have sworn that this is near identical to a Rickard's Blonde, a blonde lager that's too bland to be considered a pseudo-wannabe-micro. There's a lagery corny/barleyey malt aroma that's reminiscent to most western Canadian lagers (Kokanee), pretty meh. A slight hint of oak is popping up but no where as aromatic as Rickard's Cardigan was.
Taste: As you first take a sip, you can immediately sense a "is this all?" as the Blonde's flavours make its way through, but following that is a rich oaky, quite Canadian whisky bite that you don't really expect. I've had lots of whisky/oak/rum/etc beers in my day, sometimes the beer is just a bit oaky, but this one almost tastes like someone took a quarter of a shot of Canadian Whisky and dumped it in this beer, it's not overpowering for me, but it's noticeable. Whisky, a bit of vanilla, and even a hint of rum makes its way into the beer. I like the bite of the oak/whisky in it, but a Corb Lund (bottle of favourite Canadian pale ale/pilsner plus a shot of favourite Canadian whisky) is certainly better.
Overall Thoughts: It tastes like Rickard's Blonde had a quarter shot of Canadian Whisky added to it, the whisky-like bite was a surprise as it just sneaks up on you. It costs $10.65 before taxes and has an ABV of 5.5%. I still think the Cardigan is better, but this is something different.. I just hope for a spring beer.. Molson does something different instead of just lagering it up.. lagers are overdone.
Alternative beer options: Muskoka Winter Beard, barley wines, Innis & Gunn
Here is the problem: If you ever need to log into ANYTHING now you need to remember how you answered any one of a million questions like these.
These are not black and white questions.
These are "hmmm...what mood was i in that day?" questions.
Plus i have no memory and am a smart ass and that doesn't help at all.
Laptop circa 2004, scanner circa 2001, will not work together to scan the photo cards I received circa 2010-11. Sigh. The scanner won't work with my Windows 7 machine, and the old XP laptop isn't particularly cooperative. #firstworldproblems
When buying ice cream with "goodies" in it "(chocolate chips, cookie dough, strawberries etc.) do you become upset when you open it and there are very few of those things?
Once again the Knockout Layer, which I would like to bring to the market so to see through the packages to be sure there are enough strawberries in there!

We have less people living in the house, but more food in the fridge than ever before.
Time to stop shopping and start eating! A first-world problem.
...a week or two ago I facetiously tweeted that I'd updated my Wishlist "on the off chance someone wanted to buy me a butter dish!"
I did it mainly because I was sick of using a small plate for butter. The butter didn't really fit and the knife kept falling off when I rested it there while dealing with toast. It was a pain. #firstworldproblems
Well, today our shiny new butter dish and sugar/creamer set arrived! Wow! Thanks, Mom & Doug! Best Christmas presents ever!
(The butter dish was immediately washed and put to use, but I put the sugar/creamer set under the tree until Christmas. Or until I decide I can't wait any longer to use them. Whichever comes first. IT'S NOT MY FAULT THEY DIDN'T COME GIFT WRAPPED. OR THAT I DIDN'T READ MY EMAIL SO I MISSED THE ONE THAT SAID AN AMAZON BOX WOULD BE COMING THAT I SHOULDN'T OPEN UNTIL THE 25TH.)
There must be a button on the TV but who wants to get up and find it.

First World problem is a slang term used to refer to issues in First World nations that are complained about only because of the absence of more pressing concerns.
The term was added to the Oxford Dictionary Online in November 2012.
Past midnight on Saturday night and this joker is lying outside the subway exit. Obviously not homeless, he probably just had too much to drink and decided it was too all too much to walk the rest of the way home. (Filed under First-word Problems)
So I went and got my bike and as I rode past him I rang my bell a few times. He didn't even stir.
Cellphone towers like this one are now part of our modern landscape. They are considered an eyesore and are unwanted by some communities (NIMBY - Not In My Back Yard). However they seem to be part of a technology that is almost indispensable these days. Taken with a Canon S3IS and enhanced with the Graphic Converter gloom filter. Type L for a better view.
Our Daily Challenge - First World Problem - 9/26/11
All kidding aside, it's been a slightly frustrating day. I've had some work impacted effects, as well as some #FirstWorldProblem annoyances that sometimes just a distraction. It's kinda nice to not have to deal with those distractions at times like this, but it's not cool when it affects what I'm trying to get done for the day!
