Fireworks on the Thames to mark the 50th anniversary of Sir Norman Foster's architectural firm, Foster and Partners, next to their Battersea HQ. I was hoping to shoot fireworks this weekend, but unfortunately due to a number of issues, including my memory card failing at one display I did not get any decent shots.
I've made a short photo video, which I'll upload to YouTube on December 5th; if you'd like to watch it, then subscribe to Sights and Scenes. It'd be great to see some of you over on Youtube too.
At Athens, NY - my first attempt at shooting fireworks. Didn't have a remote trigger, so lost some focus, but still a fun experiement.

I live in a suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina which is the state capitol. Each year in mid-October the State Fair happens for a week at the fairgrounds. Each evening right before the closing of the fair there is a fantastic fireworks display. I'm so fortunate to be able to see these beautiful displays each evening during State Fair week. Fireworks have always been one of my favorite things. It's so much fun to photograph them as the displays and colors are so fantastic.

While the smoke kind of kills me for this image, I still can never get over how different the fireworks look from outside the park. I thought this framing was good enough and they still made it outside the frame.
