1969 Crown Firecoach
This is a 1969 Crown Firecoach which was kindly donated to a thefire brigade of Blairgowrie in Scotland from the sister city of Pleasanton, California in 1996. Nice looking pumper and still in great condition, it was engine 61 of the Pleasanton fire service and was build number 1579 chassis laid down in November 1968 and completed with body in February 1969 delivered shortly after , very popular in California as they were built in Los Angeles , crown coach co closed down due to the downturn in demand for school buses which were the core business of the company , very durable appliances and there are some still in service.
It's in excellent condition apart from little bits of rust on the chrome work here and there and some of the lights don't work. We have been taken it to truckfest Scotland for the past three years and it has won best fire appliance from 1966 to 1985 in 2008 and 2010.

Fire Engine
This photo a favorite of mine, was my original buddy icon. I probably spent an hour or two or maybe more removing many imperfections and distractions including a wooden sign mounted in the back of the truck and an advertisement painted on the door. Sorry that I have forgotten the make and year. LaFrance rings a bell. 55-57 GMC- LaFrance?
When we were at my son's parade they borrowed a few appliances from the past ...what a beauty!
Sadly they raced off before I could take many shots.....can't imagine they were attending a fire!!!
