Meeting at the highest level

The building in the centre, of course. The Fire Brigade in my village is a voluntary organisation - and it really is in (!) the village, ready on shortest notice. Many other essential institutions are not. For example, the next police station is many miles away. So is the nearest bank etc. Somehow, we do manage nevertheless. This is a civilised place.

In case of fire in the city... the connection for the water hose :-). I guess that is why the red colour :-)

The Fire Brigade were doing controlled burns near my home today. It was close enough for me to hear the crackling from the house. Too close and smokey for comfort but better than the uncontrolled alternative!

meanwhile fire station 1 is completely vacated and only used by the fire companies for different routine drills like this one on a beautiful sunny saturday morning

De brandweer van Blokker organiseerde met meerdere brandweervoertuigen afgelopen zomer op een hete dag met 31 graden een waterspektakel voor kinderen. Omdat het achter ons huis is, zijn we toch even gaan kijken.

Ein „Däne“ in Warnemünde – am Niegen Ümgang 2022 nahm auch eine Abordnung der dänischen Falck-Feuerwehr mit historischen Fahrzeugen teil.

Bevor es losging, wurden die Fahrzeuge auf der Promenade vor dem Teepott präsentiert.

ENG: With the ladder truck of the Berlin fire brigade it goes high up. I saw the whole thing at the "Open Day of the Berlin Fire Brigade in Siemensstadt in the district of Charlottenburg-North" on 01.07.2018!

The event is not only something for little fellow citizens, also the mums and dads can experience a lot here. Whether it is riding on a technical relief organization (THW) boat or in a Fire brigade car. There is a lot to see and experience.

GER: Mit dem Leiterwagen der Berliner Feuerwehr gehts hoch hinaus. Gesehen hab ich das ganze beim „Tag der offenen Tür der Berliner Feuerwehr in Siemensstadt im Bezirk Charlottenburg Nord“ am 01.07.2018!

Die Veranstaltung ist nicht nur was für kleine Mitbürger, auch die Mamis und Papis können hier viel erleben. Ob es das mitfahren auf einem Technischen Hilfswerk (THW) Boot ist oder in einem Feuerwehr Wagen. Es gibt eine Menge zu sehen und zu erleben.
