More of my work on my Facebook pages :
The central idea of my series is to demonstrate the strength and dedication that is needed for ballet. I want to show that although ballet looks very beautiful and effortless, it takes a lot of strength and muscles. For an activity like ballet, you need to be really involved in it and be focused. You also need to be able to be pushed hard and while doing that, still look pretty.
In my photos I tried to focus on showing the dancer's muscles that that they developed through their dedication to ballet. I tried to have the dancers go in positions to show their muscles in a way that isn't girly or frilly, and that it takes hours of hard work. For one of my pictures, I chose to have a boy and a girl partner to show that it is a hard thing to do and that they need much strength to be able to do it. And for another, I wanted to show the dancer's pointe shoes and how it is all ripped up and torn on the bottom from working hard in them. For all of the photos I made sure to edit them to make the dancer's muscles stand out and be very prominent.
When I started my creative journey of Italy in late January 2023 I had a number of things on my mind. The first was the impressions I had seen during my younger years. Happy memories on Lake Garda, Venice and Verona as well as some fun on an Italian / Swiss mountain pass. The second was out of curiosity and a question that still has not been answered. I wanted to know what Winston Churchill was doing on the 10th anniversary of the ending of War in Europe in 1955. In the weeks running up to that celebration he was on holiday in Southern Italy and it is believed he received the inspiration to create Churchill college after a visit by some friends who lived in Rome. So yes, All Roads Lead To Rome in a curious artistic way. In 2005 I wanted Pope John Paul II to select his favourite Churchill quotation for the Path of Destiny in Copenhagen. He had visited Copenhagen in 1989 and I had always admired his character and leadership. I asked the British Embassy to the Holy See to help. They wrote to me and suggested a contact. So the final painting in my Italian Tour of 2023 is called "Saint Peter´s on Hot Day.

The reason Mystery at Base 327: Part 2 hasn't come out yet is because most of my free time for the past month has been spent working on my application to the BYU Department of Media Arts. Part of my application is a short film called "The Final Hour", a prequel to my time travel film The Time Trick from a few years ago (Check it out: youtu.be/6jn6ziwRnvo). Here's hoping I get it done in time!
So that's why I haven't worked on Base 327 for a while. But have no fear, I will resume work on that as soon as my application is finished on March 4!
This is pretty much the only photo I snapped that I cared to post of our flying on Sunday. This is final on runway 16 @ Fort Worth Meacham (KFTW). We flew to Abilene, Texas and I flew the first leg so I didn't get any photos on the way there. I darkened this a bit and enhanced the dark tones.
Something I've recently completed work on for a college project. Don't even know how I ended up with up with this :P
Comments welcomed... :) Cheers
