C for collapse obviously! This was the state of a filing system in the basement of an abandoned house we visited in Belgium last year. The occupant had obviously been some kind of accountant or solicitor, as customer records were still left in files all around this basement room. In the centre of the room was a lectern with paperwork still open on it, burned down candles dotted around the place and a collection of varied crucifixes of different sizes and contruction gathering dust in an open crate in one corner. Quite an odd find.
This is located on US-66 in Luther, Oklahoma. It was built in 1915 and was the first black owned filing station on US-66.
I had to pop into the office of a service station the other day and when I saw this wall of files I immediately asked the manager if he'd mind me taking a pic. "Go right ahead!" he said, grinning from ear to ear.
