This painting by Darryl Legg depicts 'PUDGY', a P-38H Lightning flown by Thomas McGuire on his 14th mission, escorting B-24s on 29 August, 1943. Acrylic on canvas, 16"x 12". In my personal collection
Everything here is buildable. However, the engine cowling piece is only available in DBG as some knockoff part from AliExpress.

The workhorse for the US NAVY's anti-sub platform has had a long and extrodenary career, but as the P8 Poseidon orders are filled, sadly soon she will be a footnote in history.

An F-4 Phantom at the Air Zoo, a rival of the MIG-21. The F-4 was, by today's standards, not very manueverable, but it was fast! It's top speed was a shade over Mach 2.2, and it was a cool-looking jet.
The Tora Tora Tora display at the Wings Over Houston, featured this P-40. Pyrotechnics are set off to simulate bombs and torpedos dropped from the fighters and bombers.

This model depicts Fokker Dreidecker 1 (Fokker Dr.1, 'Triplane 1' in English), serial number 425/17.
Serial number 425/17 was one of several Fokker Dr.1s flown by Baron Manfred von Richthofen, and was the one in which he was shot down and killed near Vaux-sur-Somme, France, by British ace Arthur Roy Brown on April 21, 1918.
There is apparently not enough photographic evidence of this aircraft to be able to accurately portray its paint scheme. Manfred von Richthofen described it as a 'rotes flugzeug [red aircraft],' but that doesn't automatically mean it was wholly red.
Because of this, I didn’t try to model it according to the best educated guesses, but instead modeled it the way it has classicly been depicted.
With the exception of the addition of some 10- and 20-lb test black fishing line for rigging and control cables, I built it pretty much straight out of the box.
For painting and finishing, I used:
Revell RVL-34136 Carmine Red
Revell 36188 Matt Ochre
Tamiya TS-68 Wooden Deck Tan
Tamiya TS-6 Matte Black
Tamiya TS-26 Pure White
Tamiya X-10 Gun Metal

A pilot sits in the cockpit of a P-51 Mustang fighter plane, nicknamed "Shangrilla", preparing for takeoff. The aircraft is painted in a distinctive silver and red checkered pattern, with a cartoon graphic on the side. A ground crew member is visible in the foreground, likely assisting with pre-flight checks.
So, we were at Andrews AFB this past Saturday and of course I took a ton of photos, but I really wanted to share this one with you guys. During the opening ceremonies Paul McCowan parachutes into the show with a massive 5,000 square foot American Flag during the National Anthem. Well I was taking photos and noticed he was headed towards the Blue Angels so I framed up the jet I hoped he was heading towards....but as parachuters come in for a landing they change directions according to the wind, etc.....so I tried to predict where he was heading and framed up the jet and stopped watching the guy coming down.....I kept hoping he was still headed for where I had predicted. Then all of a sudden the flag appeared in my viewfinder and I took the shot.............in the lower left you can see some soldiers running out to catch the flag as it approaches the ground.
An F-35 flies overhead with the afterburner lit. As an engineer, I am in awe of this aircraft! It's like the F-117 and the F-16, or maybe the F-22, all rolled up into one incredible package. Then again, you pay for what you get.

Amusing magazine cover depicting a pilot painting a logo for his airplane: the British bulldog snapping at Hitler's rear end.
There must be at least 100 people on the Marina Bay Sands Resort "Skydeck" if you look closely. The Fighter plane came ever so close to the building whilst afterburners on. The plane made such a load noise as it passed by and shock the surrounding buildings. Amazing plane.

Val-Halla, a restored P51 Mustang, flying at the 2025 Abbotsford International Airshow. It was supposed to be taking part in the USAF Heritage Flyover alongside the F35 Lightning II but the F35 hand to land due to technical problems so Val-Halla flew on it's own while the RCAF Snowbirds prepared for their performance. Val-Halla was named for both it's pilots Bill Anders wife Valerie and for the Black Knights P51 squadron that was stationed at Keflavik, Iceland during the Cold War.
