Local people from all over the country gathered in Cusco city square to parade in their traditional costumes - very colourful!
Each May the little town of Camogli on Italy's Ligurian coast holds a fish festival. It's dedicated to St Fortunato, the patron saint of fishermen. Several tonnes of fish are fried in this huge pan 4m in diameter and holding 3,000 litres of oil.
The international Marmalade Festival at Dalemain House and Gardens, Penrith, Cumbria. The 2022 competition had over 3,000 amateur entrants, in various categories. Anyone can enter.
The Awards are centred on Dalemain Mansion; a stately home lived in by the same family for over 300 years, which also happens to hold a very rich archive of Marmalade recipes.
People enter the Marmalade Awards from a wide array of countries including UK, Australia, Japan, Lebanon, Colombia, Senegal, Brazil, the Czech Republic, Canada, India and Singapore. Any marmalade will be considered for the competition, as long as it is predominantly citrus, and they love to receive marmalades made from new and unusual citrus fruits and ingredients.
Started in 2005, all proceeds go to the Hospice At Home Charity, with a total approaching £300,000.

Sânziene, is an annual festival in the fairies' honor. Etymologically, the name comes from the Latin Sancta Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt and moon, also celebrated in Roman Dacia (ancient Romania)
People in the western Carpathian Mountains celebrate the Sânziene holiday annually, on June 24. This is similar to the Swedish Midsummer holiday, and is believed to be a pagan celebration of the summer solstice in June. According to the official position of the Romanian Orthodox Church, the customs actually relate to the celebration of Saint John the Baptist's Nativity, which also happens on June 24.

Throughout the July 4th weekend hot-air balloonists from all over the country converged on our region to float en masse above the Hudson River.
The launches take off from the banks of the Hudson River soon after sunrise and before sunset.
