The Bikajon Bika complex is located in Dishan-Kala (outer city) of Khiva.
Bikanjon or Bikajon was a noblewoman and sister of sister of Muhammad Rahim Khan II, who ruled Khiva from 1864 to 1910.
The grand religious and educational complex—which includes a mosque, a student madrasah, and an 18-meter-tall minaret—was named in her honor because she financed and stepped in to manage its completion when political and financial hurdles halted construction.
The architectural pattern is traditional and has typical Khiva flavour.
Interestingly, in Central Asian pop culture, there is a highly popular Uzbek song, "Bikajon" irecorded by the well-known singer Feruza Jumaniyozova and people often confused if one searches for the complex by its name.

To counter this worrying trend, UNDP Uzbekistan and the Ministry for Supporting Mahallas and Families prepared flyers to help combat gender-based violence and distributed them to pharmacies in order to reach vulnerable groups.

The three mothers and their children fled from a village Mady located near Osh after the riots erupted in Osh on June 11, 2010. Some of their houses were set fire and burnt out. Southern Kyrgyzstan has experienced escalating violence between ethnic Kyrgyz and Uzbek populations since the government in Bishkek was overthrown on 7 April and an interim government took power. The Government of Uzbekistan has reported that more than 75,000 refugees have fled into Uzbekistan from Kyrgyzstan in the last week. .
