i've been terrible at posting my commission photos! this was one of my edits that everything just came together easily and flowed naturally. it felt like a good edit through the whole process and im happy with how it came out. poppy has such a unique and cute look, it was fun being able to do this for her.
if you're looking for a commissioned piece from me, you can find all my booking details here: forms.gle/RWKvWoJrfeMmJSkS9
I took the dogs up into the hills today. It was a very pleasant morning for a walk, it felt like spring was almost here.
Photography is my pursuit, mainly in things that are broken and not so pretty. I have always felt a connection to these type of places. I think because at one time they were loved and cherished and then were forgotten but the life and beauty remained even when covered in dirt and grime.

The climb was tough—scrambling over steep, crumbling rocks with my gear strapped tightly. Each step felt precarious, but I knew the view would be worth it. And it was. I set up my camera on this hidden stretch of Renvyle’s coastline, where the rough, rounded boulders gave way to a sweeping view of the sea.
With the ND filter in place, I captured the water, transformed into a mist-like veil, stretching out toward the horizon. The setting sun's light danced on the surface, casting soft, golden reflections off the rounded stones in the foreground, turning them into mirrors. Out in the distance, jagged rocks pierced the sea, leading my eye toward the horizon where the sun was sinking slowly behind a line of dark, dramatic clouds. Some were lit up in fiery hues, while others remained shrouded in shadow, creating a striking contrast of light and darkness over the water.
In that moment, the world felt suspended—silent, timeless, caught between day and night. The effort to get there faded into insignificance as the beauty of the scene unfolded.

I recently went to my local Sephora to celebrate the release of 2013's Color of the Year and saw the gorgeous tones of emeralds and sapphires in their new cosmetics. The models in the advertisements looked super fierce, and I felt that Julia could pull off their look too! n__n
I've recently got into drawing. As you see I'm not a 'realist', more a go with the flow type. And I've found it to be a fun absorbing pastime. I can recommend giving it a go!
(Because I've scanned my work to email using a photocopy/scanner, the type of 'camera' info and EXIF data do not show up)

This brooch has been on my "to sew" list for sooo long!
Quite a big brooch, about 8cm wide, 100% approved by my boyfriend (who normally raises a polite eyebrow at most things I make).

The Rumpel Felt Company was established in 1912 by Geroge Rumpel (1850-1916). A German immigrant, George Rumpel came to Canada in 1868 and lived in Hamilton as a shoemaker for five years. In 1875 he founded the Berlin Felt Boot Company with 3 employees which manufactured leather boots and felt lumberman ankle-high boots. In 1903 George and his two sons Walter and Oscar returned to Germany to study advanced felt making. With the implementation of this applied knowledge, the company grew rapidly. When he sold the company to the Consolidated Felt Company in 1909, the company employed 300 workers. George Rumpel continued as president until 1912 when he started the successful Rumpel Felt Company. George Rumpel was a prominent member of Berlin society by serving as member of the Park board, the water commission, and town council for five years. He was Reeve in 1897 and mayor in 1898. The family also owned an asbestos mine in northern Quebec, The Berlin Asbestos Mine which was managed by George's son Oscar Rumpel. Walter Rumpel, George Rumpel's son and successor managed the Rumpel Felt Company from 1916-1944. Walter established a felt factory at the corner of Victoria and Duke Streets in Kitchener, Ontario where it has operated ever since. From 1944-1966 Walter was succeeded by his son John W. Rumpel, who was succeeded by his son David Rumpel from 1966-2007. In 2007 the company closed production of felt but continue as a wholesaler from the factory.

I've never felt comfortable showing myself off...I really don't have a good body image of myself. I don't know why I'm posting these, other than to try to ease this image....accept who I am, and go forward with my life.
Special thanks to André, whose photostream has inspired me beyond words.

I felted some ornaments in wet and needle technique, as well as sewed a flower and arranged everything to scan it. So it is not only a documentation, but an independent work.
The colored felt is attached to the hardware of a delay circuit, which is embedded underneath the white felt. By squeezing and pulling on the colored felt, sound can be sculpted by controlling the number of repeats and the level of feedback happening in the circuit.
