“I found it. I did. The way through the marshes. Orcs don't use it. Orcs don't know it. They go round for miles and miles. Come quickly. Soft and quick as shadows we must be.”
Proud to show you my installment for the #thirdagecollab that has been taking place over the past few weeks. Our journey follows scenes along the roads of Middle Earth and their importance. This part includes the scene with Frodo, Sam and Gollum as they hide from the Fellbeast and his rider. Using the freeform technique, I was able to mix various plants and translucent green tiles to create this messy swamp. Be sure to check out the last installment coming soon on Northern Lego page. I’d also like to mention a major thanks to Blaine's World for sponsoring this collaboration and another thanks to the participants tagged for helping make such a great collaboration with so many awesome MOCs.
More than a year ago now, the LUG I was part of ran a contest to build something using only 10 pieces. This would've been my entry, had I been able to attend that meeting.
I finally got round to photographing it.
I didn't originally intend it to resemble a fellbeast, but everyone who saw it thought it was one, so I got outvoted.
If you're only able to count 9 pieces, the 10th piece is one of these, at the top of the tower, holding the crown and flame.
My Fellbeast and Eagle are on the challenge of LEGO now!
Took a new photo of them fighting at the black gate scene😁
Hope you enjoy!
The Nazgul mounted on a hideous flying beast watches over the vast expanse of darkness in Mordor!
The fell beast has been upgraded from the previous version with a wider wing span and smoothed out the transition for the neck and the tail into the body.
Not sure what this is, a Fellbeast winged nazgul from LoR possibly , if anyone knows I would love to know too. A hand held shot so not fantasticly sharp.
I made some changes to my cuusoo lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/41453 project (neck & legs), so it was the opportunity to make some atmospheric lighting on it.
For the Middle Earth LEGO Olympics I received the task on building the Fell Beast. I've always wanted to build a dragon, so this was a great excuse. Though the (official LEGO) strings have been edited out in this photo, the Fell Beast is supported by a marionette-esque system, my solution to the heavy wings and fragile legs.
Thanks for viewing!

I feel confident building almost anything, except for creatures/animals. Thus trying my hands on a fellbeast was uncharted territory for me. First of it has the wrong wings. My intentions are to use the wings lego used in their version of the fellbeast as soon as the new Balrog set releases as it uses the same wings so they will be become widely available. Other than the wings I feel the overall shaping is fairly decent. Further changes will be made once it's built in real bricks and it's easier to see the proportions.
Tell me what you think.
I was fortunate enough to get a hold of the new Barad Dur set, as well as the GWP Fell Beast, for the most part it was a solid GWP, although the head design was abysmal, it looked poorly done and it bothered me heavily, so I made my very own head design including reins for the Nazgûl to hold.
In the future I will make the perch larger and make the talons open up, they're too static as they are.

A dragon inspired by the fell beasts from Lord of the Rings. This is one of my favorite creations yet and, as usual, my photography doesn't do it justice. It's very swooshy. More pics here: Brickshelf
I hope all of you fellow LOTR/Hobbit fans with enjoy this build as much as I do! It turned out even better than I had originally thought it would...so I'm extra happy with this build! This is my first ever micro/mini castle.
This is definitely going on my desk for a while. ;)
For those who don't know, Barad Dur is Sauron's capital in Mordor. It also is the famous tower that holds the "Eye of Sauron," the last pieces of his spirit.
I also built a miniature Fellbeast, which I have only seen done once before. This is my own design, both beast and the tower. The Fellbeasts are the winged creatures that the Nazgul ride on in the second and third instalment of the LOTR trilogy. I admit the beast may be a little big for the scale, but it was the smallest I could make it without using "illegal" connections.
Hope you all enjoy this build! Make sure to comment your thoughts below! :-D
Comment if you think I should do Orthanc next!

Decided to give those who did not get to see the WIP shots a little preview of my upcoming Fell Beast MOC, now that I've already made this to submit to the LOTR Building Challenge.
(Yeah, more pics there... you could go through the effort of looking for that or you could wait til it's fully improved and finished)
What's to be done...
Still gotta finish the wings and make them more sturdy (the latter goes for the legs as well), and the tail needs to be finished. (The beast will also make an appearance in my upcoming Osgiliath MOC, which is, unfortunately *still* in the works... figured I didn't have enough space to expand it towards bits with water either now, but I'll get to solving that later on.)
Note: The finished Fell Beast will probably have nothing to do with this scene,
but I decided to use this as an opportunity to give y'all a preview.
Also, here's the new LEGO LOTR game trailer:

Fell beast is a creature from Lord of the Rings. Nazguls, who was servants of Sauron used to fly on these creatures.
This is my LEGO model of fell beast.
I've finished my design for a LEGO Nazgul Fell Beast MOC in LEGO Digital Designer (LDD).
It took a while, but I'm pretty happy with the results! It's approximately 380 pieces.
I took heavy inspiration (copied) for the head and wings from this excellent design: flic.kr/p/fCkQ1W
I designed the legs and body myself.
I've already ordered the parts of Bricklink to build 4 of these, and to test out the final design to see if the legs function OK, and everything stays together well.
I intend to keep two of these with my Barad-Dur tower, and sell the other two.
I'll post back some photos in a month or so (once the pieces arrive) and update on the progress!
Thanks for looking :)

"A sword day, a red day and the sun rises !"
"Death ! Death ! Death !"
The "from a different view "contest gave me the idea to build this (this is also my entry). C&C welcome.
Ps: The fig in front is NOT Theoden.
A miniature Fellbeast, the winged creatures that the Nazgul ride on.
This is my custom design! I've only seen one other mini Fellbeast.
