The first night of Alice and Ellen at my house!

Time for something a bit different.

I don't often shoot landscapes due. This is mainly because it requires bona fide skill and no little patience.

But, of late i've been looking to justify the existence of my camera while simultaneously wanting to get out of the city as much as possible. So, Hazel and I sped off after work one day down to Portencross, our favourite last minute getaway spot outside Glasgow.

I spent a fine few hours taking these shots with a two legged triped (bi-pod?) and an ND filter I had to hold on due to it being the wrong size for the lends.

Regardless, it was a spectacular night and I had a great time plodding about the rocks while Hazel munched on her dinner and read her book up on the walkway. Great stuff.

This image from Hidcote Manor Gardens was a runner-up in the NTChallenge Favourite Spot View competition. It is one of my favourite places at this location. The view, the bench, the buzz of 🐝 bees and the flowers all make it special.

This was my favourite spot on the island, and every day, I would try to be there for the sunset.

Arthur's new favourite spot :-)

I've created the texture myself. Might be up-loading it/them further on if someone would like to try them too. Happy Tuesday!

Ah yes—the old truck in the forest near Skookumchuck Bakery & Cafe is one of those quietly iconic sights that adds a layer of mystery and charm to the Egmont experience 🚚🌲.

While there’s no official plaque or detailed historical record publicly available, locals and visitors alike have woven stories around it.

🌿 What We Know

• The truck sits just off the trail near the bakery, nestled among mossy trees and ferns, looking like it’s been swallowed by time.

• It’s believed to be a mid-20th century work truck, possibly used during the logging or fishing boom that shaped Egmont’s early economy.

• Some say it was abandoned decades ago, left behind when the area transitioned from industrial use to eco-tourism and recreation.

• Over time, nature reclaimed it—making it a favorite photo spot and a symbol of the region’s rugged past.

Why It Captures the Imagination

• The truck’s rusted frame and forest setting evoke a sense of forgotten stories and quiet resilience.

• It’s become a kind of accidental art installation, blending human history with the wild beauty of the Sunshine Coast.

If you’re heading to Skookumchuck Narrows, it’s worth pausing to admire this relic.

Thank you for your visit and any faves or comments are always greatly appreciated!

de rincones q me gusta fotografiar repetidamente

corners I like to photograph again and again.

It was a crazy one.

But so very enjoyable. A lot of laughter, a bat for my sister ( yes, a flying one...we knew there would have to be...), cousins galore, lots of cake, reminders of how I was (and have I really changed? Um, no...I am nothing if not consistent), the traditional discussion of inbreeding and what constitutes crossed branches ( or crossed branches that would warrant serious concern;)) and a little more laughter...

It was very good:).

The view from one of my favourite spots. In the past I used to stay at the wall at the top of the Dome to watch the world from above. In these days I prefer to watch the ducks, swans and all the other water birds from the ground. My daughter loves this place as well - riding her pink Lilifee-bicycle and feed the ducks afterwards. A perfect day!
