The University of Helmstedt, official Latin name: Academia Julia ("Julius University"), was a university in Helmstedt in the Duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel that existed from 1576 until 1810.
Founded by and named after Duke Julius of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel on 15 October 1576, the first university of the duchy and the first Protestant university of the northern Holy Roman Empire quickly became one of the largest German universities.
The university had four faculties for theology, law, medicine and philosophy including the seven liberal arts. The great auditorium, the Juleum Novum (image) was erected in 1592.
In the late 18th century, Helmstedt lost popularity to newer universities, such as the University of Göttingen. It was closed in 1810 on initiative of Johannes von Müller, director of public instruction in the Kingdom of Westphalia.

Le Parche (o in greco Moire) erano la personificazione del destino ineluttabile. Il loro compito era tessere il filo del fato di ogni uomo, svolgerlo ed infine reciderlo segnandone la morte.

Lachesi girava il fuso: stabiliva quanto filo spettasse a ogni uomo e decideva le sorti della vita che stava filando, usando lo stame bianco misto ai fili d'oro per indicare i giorni felici e lo stame nero misto ai fili d'oro per indicare i giorni di sventura.
Atropo ("inflessibile"), la più vecchia, che, con lucide cesoie, lo recideva, inesorabile.
La lunghezza dei fili prodotti può variare, esattamente come quella della vita degli uomini. A fili cortissimi corrisponderà una vita assai breve, come quella di un neonato, e viceversa. Si pensava ad esempio che Sofocle, uno dei più longevi autori greci (90 anni), avesse avuto in sorte un filo assai lungo.
Rara è la rappresentazione delle Parche, tanto più in piedi e in una composizione stretta, che le vede una a fianco dell'altra. Lo sfondo è scuro, I loro attributi sono chiaramente specificati: Cloto ha la conocchia, Lachesi il filo che simboleggia la vita dell'uomo, e Atropo è in atto di tagliarlo.
Tutte e tre hanno lo stesso volto di vecchia, di gusto stregonesco, ruotato in posizioni diverse: frontale, di profilo e di tre quarti.

É uma ave Pelecaniforme da família Ardeidae.
Conhecido também como garça-cinzenta, sabacu, savacu-de-coroa, sabacu-de-coroa (Bahia), taquari ou taquiri (Pará), taiaçu (algumas regiões da Amazônia), dorminhoco (Rio Grande do Sul), socó, garça-dorminhoca, guacuru ou guaicuru, arapapá-de-bico-comprido, garça-da-noite ou ainda socó-dorminhoco. O nome socó-dorminhoco deve-se ao fato de esta ave passar boa parte do dia dormindo, porém na verdade trata-se de uma espécie predominantemente noturna.

Also known as gray heron, sabacu, savacu-de-coroa, sabacu-de-coroa (Bahia), taquari or taquiri (Para), taiaçu (some regions of the Amazon), dorminhoco (Rio Grande do Sul) -worms, guacuru or guaicuru, long-billed macaw, night heron or even sleep-punch. The name punch-sleeper is due to the fact that this bird spends a good part of the day sleeping, but in fact it is a species predominantly nocturnal.
