"When my father died it was like a whole library burned down" and then I realized what death is ... and that was a long time ago ... and it became unpleasant to live ... world without end died
Found an old photo of my Dad, I got his looks it seems. Happy Father's Day to all the Dads and Daddies out there.

My mother, who died a week ago, and my father, who died in 2006, at a carnival ball in Memmingen in 1954. My mother was 22 years old then, my father 27 (their birthdays were later in the year), and I was about ten months old at the time. Certainly my grandmother took care of me that evening.
Dad or the Alpha male (right) and Son from last spring. The family group usually consists of a breeding pair - Alpha male & female, and non breeding offspring from previous seasons. The male offspring can stay with the family group for 1 or 2 years.
I captured this on the Cumberland River. The Father & Son were fishing on a small dry patch in the middle of the river. As I was shooting I noticed the water was rising, I shouted to them and they barley had enough time to cross before the island was gone.

Fathers carve the path with steady hand,
Guiding family through life's shifting sand.
With love and strength, they light the way,
Building bonds that never fray.

“A Great Soul” by Maya Angelou
“A great soul
serves everyone
all the time.
A great soul
never dies.
It brings us together
again and again.”
The site preserves the 1787 home of Founding Father and statesman John Jay (1745–1829), one of the three authors of The Federalist Papers and the first Chief Justice of the United States.
Happy Father's Day. My dad's wedding ring and stationery--probably 80 years old from the USS Texas, which he served on. In the background is a pin from TWA, where he worked and also a pocket watch of my father-in-laws. Both have passed, both remembered this week.

Another beautiful view just outside the park. This image is a tribute to my wonderful father who passed away at the age of 92 in 2009.
In the afternoon after visiting Zion National Park, I took a Zion Outback Safaris trip outside the park. The 3-hour “Mesa Vista” Safari followed North Creek toward the Kolob Terrace, then explored Smith Mesa. Smith Mesa was 'open range'. The area provided spectacular panoramas which stretched from West Temple to the Kolob Fingers at the northern end of the park.
