This week is "fat bear week" in Alaska. I don't think this coastal brown bear has the needed girth to win.
This Grizzly takes a seat to contemplate the coming winter. I was amused to see this as I watched this and another smaller bear go about their daily routine. This bear looks like it's added some fat to help it last through hibernation.

Just a leisurely stroll down the beach. The belly isn't quite touching the ground yet but it's getting there. I'm not sure which bear this is (clue me in if you know) but surely must be a contender in this year's Fat Bear Week contest, celebrating the bears of Katmai National Park. Lots of detail here, if you want to zoom in you can see all the bugs circling its head and the sand kicked up by its massive paws.
I haven't been able to get out and take any photos, so will be going through my archives. Hope you all have a wonderful day.
A chicken sticker spotted on a lamppost that looks hand-drawn with a brush, among other random stickers. Coincidentally, the Fat Chicken fast food shop is only about a hundred metres away.

Our squirrels here in Austin suffer from a little bit of an obesity problem.. semi tame, fat and happy.

Mourning Dove fun fact: males and females both feed their new babies something called “crop milk” or “pigeon milk” for the first few days of their life. Rich in protein and fat, it resembles cottage cheese, is secreted by the adults’ crop lining, and is regurgitated to the little ones.
