The California Fantasy Van (a.k.a. the Brass Van), was created by Ernie Steingold and is composed of over 5,000 pieces of brass and over $15,000 in coins. It took Steingold over 10 years to complete his masterpiece, and when he died in 1997, it almost ended up being sold for scrap. Luckily, the van found a home with Steingold's godson in Richardson, Texas, and it can be seen at many Art Car shows around the country.
