The barrier between Earth and Hell took eons to destroy. When it was broken, demons ravaged the earth and her people and from there challenged their holy brethren to protect their devastated terra firma. A ceaseless war is being fought between demons and angels as the world continues to crumble. Degathreon was once one of the most prominent of demonic warriors after he fell from the realm of the Angelic. He led armies to fight against archangels (his rank formerly) and was notorious for his destruction of angels. While upon earth, he took up the mantle of “Degas”, a play on his own name and art he had stumbled upon. He considered himself an artist with the death that he delivered to the wretched angels.
After a pseudo-reign over a city, a young angel name Ezra had been charged with the task of murdering of Degas. The warrior was hardly experienced and terrified of Degas, which the demon found entertaining. He let Ezra live; however, the young angel was as tenacious as he was beautiful. He tried countless times to kill Degas and over the months the two began to build a very taboo relationship with one another. Degas found himself softening as he spent time with Ezra and as they progressed, their war began to wane. The angels were winning and driving the demons back into Hell.
Degas, out of fear and confusion, eventually killed Ezra. It was the biggest mistake of his long existence. He killed a part of himself with the angel and Ezra’s death did not fix what had changed within him. As the earth began to rebuild, Degas was cast out for his treachery.
He has found himself infected because of his misdeeds and the infection is quite visible on his left hand. It creeps up his wrist to his elbow where it fades just slightly until it becomes once again concentrated around his neck and collar bone. The infection was a ‘gift’ from his demonic superiors (to whom he refuses to answer to) and seeks not to kill him, but cause him a great deal of constant pain as well as the inability to die. Degas must live with what he has done and the lover he destroyed.
Currently, Degas is searching for the archangel Raphael as he hears the angel is on earth and neutral. It is likely the angel will have knowledge of a cure or at the very least, the power to end his life.

Since this Vancouver Landmark (or eyesore as some people say) is being demolished this week, I went through my archives from February 2004...the last time I was on the grounds. It was abandoned for the most part then but hung on for another 6 years before being taken down by the bulldozers this week.
