Took a wander with a friend at Haldon Belvedere and grabbed some shots on a damp afternoon.

This killer lady is Toots VonFury. Toots has a red riding hood routine as part of her Burlesque act, we decided to make this hoodie for her and do a shoot on Friday night.
St Nectan’s Glen, Trethevy, North Cornwall.
I have always known St Nectan’s Glen to be an amazingly mystical, mythical and spiritual place, but a highly memorable day there in July of this year proved it to be an even more magical and hauntingly beautiful location and experience than I had recalled from my previous visit.
So much has been said and written about the peace and mysticism of this otherworldly place of dreams, but not even hearing and reading all of those words can truly prepare anyone for the breath taking poetic beauty, serenity and very special feeling of being at one with both Mother Nature and the spirits of the ancestors that they are about to experience and share in.
This hypnotic feeling pervades throughout, not just the sacred site of the spirit lifting, soul soothing waterfall itself, but also whilst making your way to your destination along the birdsong filled banks of the River Trevillet, through the timeless, idyllic fairy-tale landscape of the ancient woodlands and during the rewarding period of self-reflection and positive energy raised by a visit to the tranquil and unique meditation room known as “St Nectan’s Cell".
People from all around Britain and across the world come here to experience the very essence of this wonderment and many leave cloth, ribbons, crystals, photographs, pictures, and a myriad of other offerings amidst the stream, foliage, and walls of rock close to the Kieve (waterfall) as if maybe leaving a little piece of themselves here forever, in memory of a lost loved one or simply to celebrate and record such a beautiful moment in time. For similar reasons, others place piles of flat stones such as those in the foreground of this scene, which are gathered from the water and often referred to as “fairy stacks”, around the sacred site whilst absorbing the glorious surroundings and losing themselves within the healing sounds emanating from the water.
The random circles within my capture here are instances of the much talked about orbs (pure and beautiful spiritual beings or vibrations of light which are drawn to where they feel their wonderful healing qualities are most needed) that proliferate around the Kieve (waterfall) and were certainly evident on this particular day.

To perfectly complete all of this, the friendship and warmth extended by the wonderful people who look after the Kieve truly made it a day which will always remain in the memory and it is heart-warming to see that St Nectan's Glen is being held safely in the hands of extremely caring individuals who possess a genuine love, understanding and respect for such an ethereal national treasure.
For anyone wishing to escape the superficial void of 21st Century life and connect, engage and interact with the powerful rhythms of the natural world and feed the soul with the power of the past, this enchanting place is somewhere which I would thoroughly recommend.
Time spent amidst the immense peace of St Nectan’s Glen leaves the mind, body and soul feeling relaxed, enlightened, cleansed and refreshed and the heart filled with a very strong longing to go back and experience it’s radiant wonders all over again…..

She dwells in the suburbs… a neglected vehicle in the midst of an wild, overgrown field
veiled by a hazy fog that covers the sky.
In her bower, are moth eaten seats and bits of material, gauze and down.
She wears her long gown, catching leaves in its wake as she glides up the spiral stairs to the higher deck.
Her feathered friends, the crows, bring her telltales from the forest…
And gentle foxes come to visit by nightfall, they slumber at her feet while she gazes out of the spider web windowpane, into the starless, bleak nocturne.
Her wings will fade and time will cease ticking by, from the absence of belief and stories untold…
