Joshua Shaw has the luxury of driving the sprint cars he restores, such at the #23 Hart-Jones car. This beauty from 1966 will be at Thermadyne's FABTECH booth, #6140.
"Mods: Custom Fabtech off-road suspension including a 6" lift, 20" Motiv wheels, and super-aggressive 38" Nitto Mud Grappler tires. I have installed a K&N air filter to help the Vortec V8 breathe a little easier.
Top Speed: Probably about 90 mph on a long downhill with a stiff tailwind. While she may not be in her element on the road, the Orange Beast is really more at home where the pavement ends.
Polar Bears Annihilated: To my knowledge, the Orange Beast has never taken out any polar bears directly, but with the abysmal fuel economy of about 10 mpg, I'm sure several will die if I continue to drive it around long enough. However, the Orange Beast has taken out several other small animals and birds over the past few years.
Favorite Hobbies: The Orange Beast enjoys rock crawling in its native habitat of Moab, UT (see photo) as well as enraging bicycle riders, environmentalists, and Toyota Prii. She caught several eggs from some tree hugger last summer while parked in town, which damaged the paint on the driver's side door and the rear passenger door."
