Amritsar (Inde) - En juin 1984, le Temple d'Or a été le théâtre d'un massacre dont les Shiks ont été les victimes. Amritsar (India) - In June 1984, the Golden Temple was the scene of a massacre, of which the Shiks were the victims. Occupied by a group of Sikh separatists under the orders of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, after the failure of negotiations with the Indian Federation, the attack was ordered by the Prime Minister of the time: Indira Gandhi.

At the end of the battle, 493 mutineers were killed, including 100 women and 75 children. To which must be added the 86 wounded who were not executed. The Indian military meanwhile, would have lost 334 men (86 dead and 248 wounded).

The Golden Temple, stained with the blood of the insurgents and desecrated by the boots of the assailants, is considered an irreparable insult by the Sikh extremists. This military attack called "Operation Blue Star", could not go unpunished according to the Sikhs. It will result on October 31 of the same year, the assassination of Indira Gandhi, killed by her two bodyguards of Sikh faith.

Today, Sikhs and Hindus have buried the hatchet and avoid evoking this tragic episode in their recent history. Reason prevailed in the face of resentment. In their sacred Temple, the Sikhs once again welcome all visitors, offering room and board to those who request it. Without distinction of social status or religion. A principle to ponder.

The events unfolding in the United States of America are shocking but not surprising. I'm not the only one that saw this coming long before the current president was elected. Now, however, he and his administration are saying the quiet parts out loud.

When he says, "I am a dictator, sometimes you need one," it isn't a joke. He is revealing his true intent. He worships dictators like Putin.

When he talks about serving for a 3rd or even 4th term as president, he isn't joking. The entire pretext of deploying masses of ICE agents to Minnesota, a blue state with a tiny illegal immigrant population compared to red states such as Florida or Texas, is not to control immigration. His federal ICE troops are there to stoke anger, to foment a violent reaction in order to declare martial law and instate the Insurrection Act.

None of this is new. We saw it in 1930s Germany although, back then, we didn't have mobile phones recording it from every conceivable angle.

I saw multiple videos of Renee Good waving on ICE agents, not obstructing them, and trying to escape being surrounded by turning her wheels away from ICE agents both in reverse and moving forward at slow speed. Her last words, with a genuine smile, were "That's fine, dude. I'm not mad at you." Now an independent autopsy found that the fatal shot was through the side of her head, through the side window of her car, when there was clearly no risk to the agent that shot her. She was killed for daring to not be intimidated by ICE. A military widow, remarried to her new wife and with three children. A good person by all non-administration accounts.

Not only did they lie about events. They deliberately smeared and slandered Renne Good's character, investigated her widow, and removed evidence from the scene to escape independent investigation.

Now, again, after ICE agents were essentially given immunity from prosecution for murder, another good person is dead. An ICU nurse at a Veterans Association hospital. Alex Pretti, a 37 year old and again, by all non-government accounts, a good person that was simply filming ICE agents - exercising his legal right.

I have seen the videos from multiple angles, in slow motion, frame by frame, and he never resists the ICE agents. He never reaches for his holstered and legally carried weapon. He was disarmed with his gun being removed by one ICE agent, directly in front of the officer that would go on to shoot Alex. Disarmed over a second before any shots were fired. The shooting officer saw this. He fired into the back of the nurses head and kept firing into his lifeless body.

Alex's final act was to go to the aid of a woman who had been pushed down by ICE agents. He was then pepper sprayed, pulled to the ground, assaulted by numerous officers, pistol whipped in the head and then, while prone and trying to rub his eyes, executed. Murdered.

The president and his administration were quick to label another good person as a violent extremist, a domestic terrorist and a threat. They were quick to remove evidence, publish clearly verifiable lies and to smear another US citizens good character.

This, on top of countless reports of children being traumatised by ICE agents actions, separated, removed, used as bait and terrorised. US citizens being arrested and taken away because of nothing other than the colour of their skin and a quota that ICE agents are allegedly financially encouraged to fulfil. Even off-duty police officers stopped and interrogated by ICE simply because of the colour of their skin. ICE agents that are poorly trained, trigger happy and even have clearly visible NAZI and racist tattoos. If this is how they behave in public, while being filmed, how are they treating the people that they are holding in concentration camps away from scrutiny?

These are the presidential "Brownshirts". The Sturmabteilung (SA). The agitators employed to terrorise civil society into violent reaction in order to end democracy.

The United States of America is now a fascist authoritarian police state.

Fascists do not go after violent criminals or attack powerful countries. They punch down. Always. They dehumanise minorities and shift the window of acceptable abuse. They stoke fear. They foment hate. This is the only way that they hold power.

I can only hope that this time, with fascist atrocities being filmed, streamed and shared, that enough people will stand up and prevent history from rhyming before the USA slides down the same slope that 1930s Germany did.

None of this is hyperbole. We are at that serious of an inflection point.

Souls have been sold, but there are many more good souls that can stand up to protect democracy.

Yesterday Victoria held our State Election. The results so far, given that nearly half the voters had cast their votes in pre-poll, seems to have been a re-election of the Labor Party and Premier Dan Andrews. This red tide was a bit unexpected given the vitriol during the election campaign and the stunning failures during the pandemic lockdowns etc, plus the deaths that have ensued since removal of restrictions and Omicron variants. However, although Labor seems to have been returned there were some interesting results, including the drift of voters to more extremist parties inhabiting the right-wing. If you take the vote for Clive Palmer, One Nation, Freedom Party, Angry Victorians Party, Family First and others, it does amount to a substantial number of people. Victoria, the most progressive state, has a coterie of angry, disenfranchised people who may well be growing in number. The Scanlon - Monash Index of Social Cohesion 2022 Report also gives an indication of why. Everyone remembers that anyone who deliberately drives through a red light is grossly negligent and culpable. Anyone who intentionally gives their vote to a right-wing extremist organization is also acting with gross negligence and will not be able to absolve themselves of guilt later.

Kiefernstraße ( pronounced ['ki:fɐn'ʃtra:sə]) is a street in the Flingern-Süd district of Düsseldorf that became notorious in the 1980s for squatting. In the mid-1980s there were connections to the Baader–Meinhof Gang. Nowadays, the former squatters have regular leases. (Wikipedia)

Contrary to Wikipedia am not sure about the leases. Regular, what does that mean? This area looks like molotow cocktails, throwing stones at the police and the smell of dope is constantly in the air. I didn't expect i will share this photo in such circumstances.

Crocus City stands on the stripe of land outside the Moscow's border, right between Moscow Circular Road (МКАД) and the river. It consists of a few commercial buildings: few malls, oceonarium and finally music hall / exposition hall - a very large pavilion left to the Giant Wheel on this photo.

Yesterday's night it has been under a terrorist attack allegedly executed by 4-5 migrants from Tajikistan and ISIS claimed to stand behind it.

By now the media claim 115 people died and more than a hundred hospitalized, many in critical condition. There is no official info yet but i believe about a half of the victims could die because of the intoxication due the fire caused by the attackers while the victims were hiding somewhere in the building.

This seems to be the major failure of our security services in ages. When Russia got involved in the fight on ISIS in Syria in 2015 the islamists threatened us badly, but backthen a few attacks were prevented by FSB (as i remember also a group of Tajik nationals were caught once). But in today's reality our security services are busy of putting in prison hundreds of people who verbally opposed the war in Ukraine or the anti-corruption activists related to Navalny, as they are now called the "extremists" as well as the LGBT movement etc. Of course they have not enough time to investigate islamic terrorism, even after being warned by US officials. Pathetic.

Between Jan. 1 and July 2, of this year, 841 manatees died in Florida waters. This is by far the highest recorded die off of manatees. They are starving to death due to the serious decline of seagrass which is caused by red tide and pollution. Manatees have a very uncertain future in Florida. At the current rate of die off, if sustained, manatees will no longer be found in Florida waters in less than 9 years time. It is unlikely that the issue will be dealt with by the current extremist right wing governor.

The Clywedog reservoir (Welsh: Llyn Clywedog) is a reservoir near Llanidloes, Wales on the head-waters of the River Severn. The construction of the reservoir was enabled by an Act of parliament which asserted that "The chief function of the reservoir is river regulation. It was completed in 1967 and is situated near the B4518 road north of Llanidloes, Powys Its function is to regulate the flow in the River Severn by releasing water into the river channel during low flow periods and re-filling during the wetter winter months. Capacity is held in the reservoir throughout the winter so that it retains capacity to mitigate downstream flooding by absorbing excess flow from the head-waters of the Afon Clywedog, a tributary of the River Severn . The reservoir was formed by damming both the Afon Clywedog and a much smaller embankment dam located at Bwlch-y-gle to prevent overflow into the next valley. Its concrete buttress dam is the tallest concrete dam in the UK, with a height of 72 metres and a length of 230 metres. When at capacity the reservoir contains approximately 50,000 megalitres of water. .

Construction of the dam started in 1963 after the passing of an Act of Parliament ordering its creation to help prevent flooding of the River Severn in winter and to maintain its water levels in the summer. Local opposition was strong against the construction of the reservoir as it would result in the flooding of much of the Clywedog valley and the drowning of 615 acres (2.5 km2) of agricultural land. On top of several disruptions and protests, during construction in 1966 a bomb was detonated within the construction site, setting work back by almost 2 months. The political extremist group Mudiad Amddiffyn Cymru (MAC) was widely suspected of carrying out the bombing.

The reservoir was opened in 1967 and till this day has been in continuous usage, generally filling with water over the winter months and gradually releasing it during the summer months. The reservoir is currently owned and operated by Severn Trent Water Limited with oversight and regulation by Natural Resources Wales. Clywedog Sailing Club operates on the lake, and Powys County Councils Staylittle Outdoor Centre delivers a range of adventure education both on the water and in the surrounding area.

This blind barrel-organ woman had positioned herself unsuspectingly at the Burgtheater opposite the Christmas market at Vienna City Hall and was surprised by the noisy mass demonstration against the government's Corona measures. This demonstration had been called by the anti-vaccination party FPÖ, several vaccination-refusal organisations and various right-wing extremist groups.

Last summer, former Chancellor Kurz, ignoring warnings from scientists, had himself celebrated as the victor of the pandemic in a poster campaign and thus contributed to the fact that progress in vaccination stalled. The main cause of the current catastrophic situation, however, are the vaccination refusers.

The seven-day incidence rate has now risen to 1,077.1 across Austria, in Upper Austria it is 1,677.3, and in Salzburg it is as high as 1,805.2. The hospitals there have sounded the alarm about the overloading of their intensive care units and the threatened introduction of triage. The federal government has therefore agreed with the state governors to introduce a nationwide general lockdown as of Monday and a general compulsory vaccination as of February.

So these covidiots are demonstrating against government measures that have been made necessary by a development for which they bear the main blame. In doing so, they become more and more aggressive and their language more and more martial. Vaccination boxes and even hospitals had to be protected from them by the police during today's demonstrations.

The police counted 35,000 demonstrating idiots today, the FPÖ speaks of 100,000. I can confirm that there were extremely many, and I find this dismaying.

My first photos in 2023 came from the beach.

Those who did not book a trip to warm and sunny location, there is always Sunnyside Beach in Toronto. No palm trees here, but the water is inviting. If that is not endorsement enough, these two women where part of a group of brave souls all born in places like Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia....If they can do it, you could too. There is always next year...That's my line.

To some they are weeds. To others, they are wildflowers. As the sun set, I stopped along the frontage road to Interstate 10 and snapped a few snapshots. I tried a couple with the phone and a couple with my backup camera. This is from the camera. Everybody shoots the wind turbines out here. A tractor-trailer rig driver tapped the airhorns as he or she passed by eastbound.

Someone in a BMW with all of the windows tinted followed me around out here. They may have been shooting photos of me or pointing a gun at me. All I could see was the tinting. When I left, the person followed me for a distance then peeled off. Did they just leave the dispensary a few hundred feet away? No idea.

…People are overwhelmingly good and trustworthy and moderate. ...most people are moderates. The fanatics or the crooks — I'm guessing that's one or two percent of the population. But they make a lot of noise. …Jon Stewart points out that you hear more from the extremists because the moderates have stuff to do.
