The Laugavegur is a famous trekking route in South-West Iceland from the hot springs area of Landmannalaugar to the glacial valley of Þórsmörk . It is noted for the wide variety of landscapes on its 55 km (34 mi) path. The route is typically completed over 2–4 days with potential stops at the mountain huts at Hrafntinnusker, Álftavatn, Hvanngil and Emstrur. An ultramarathon is held on the route each July. It is possible to combine the trek with the Fimmvörðuháls route which goes over the pass from Þórsmörk to Skógar for an additional one or two days or an additional 25 km (16 mi). Landmannalaugar, Þórsmörk, and Skógar are all reachable by bus during the summer. A bus from Hella connects with Álftavatn once a day during the summer.

Built in 1879 this abandoned farmhouse sits in a field decaying as the autumn color is in full swing, the chimney has collapsed and the windows are boarded up, I asked if I could go inside the farmer who owns the home explained it was his grandfathers home and it was unsafe and has sat for 50 years without anyone going inside.

In the Netherlands we love tulips. You will find them everywhere in the spring and in different colors. So beautiful.

Ryoanji Goryonoshitacho, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto, Japan

龍安寺御陵ノ下町 右京区 京都市日本

Ryoanji Temple (龍安寺, Ryōanji) is the site of Japan's most famous rock garden, which attracts hundreds of visitors every day. Originally an aristocrat's villa during the Heian Period, the site was converted into a Zen temple in 1450.

As for the history of Ryoanji's famous rock garden, the facts are less certain. The garden's date of construction is unknown and there are a number of speculations regarding its designer. The garden consists of a rectangular plot of pebbles surrounded by low earthen walls, with 15 rocks laid out in small groups on patches of moss. An interesting feature of the garden's design is that from any vantage point at least one of the rocks is always hidden from the viewer.

Doesn't this look inviting? A pair of canoes lie along the shoreline of a small lake in rural western Illinois during the late afternoon... beconning kids to expore the lake and have fun out on the water. I can tell you that this older kid was tempted to put down the camera and launch one of them into the water! :D

Constantine + Lola have a lovely litter of one month old.

Lola, the female, belongs to a friend of us and the puppies are not in our house. They are all doing well!

They are Lagotto Romagnolo dogs.

This is the only breed of dog that is officially recognized as specialized in truffle hunting.

Happy New Year!
