Hopetoun Falls - a wonderful place to relax and reflect, the Otways , such a beautiful part of the world.

A pastel version of the channel markers at Barwon Heads

A rare opportunity to photograph the sea stacks at Gibsons Steps from a different view, Hope you enjoy the image

This is another capture on my photography tour of pristine and spectacular Whisky Bay. The colours of the water and the beauty of the contrast in the rocks is mesmerising.

A different perspective on the Barwon River bridge, a view from beneath it, I just liked how the colours just work well together, hoping you like it.

First light at the Queenscliff Pier and Lifeboat shed. Even though this location is often featured in photos, Queenscliff has so many beautiful sites to explore. I really enjoyed the peace, tranquility and colours of that morning shoot, hope you have a great weekend people.

Winter Sunset at 13th Beach, Barwon Heads, there's something magical about watching Mother Nature create colourful beauty on the landscape

Sometimes persistence pays off.

Waiting for a sunset at Dog Rocks, Batesford, near Geelong, when I was rewarded with a wonderful display by Mother Nature.

Part of my Surfcoast /Great Ocean Road trip. Landed in Torquay and the weather had been ordinary for a couple of days, luckily this particular morning the weather was kind and gave me a chance to take a few shots.

The Split Point lighthouse at Aireys Inlet is always a wonderful subject to photograph from different perspectives. This image was taken just before a storm hit the area, luckily made it back to the car just before it pelted down.

Its such a pleasure to be surrounded by the tranquility and beauty of Nature, I certainly don't do it nearly enough

Morning sun rising over the Pt Lonsdale Surf club. Such a great place to visit, Pt Lonsdale offers so many opportunities to photograph.

I’m focusing on the positives for the year as @davidverbossche and I had some great camping trips out and about Western Australia chasing the Milkyway, so here’s a couple from the Pinnacles at the end of June. July I ended up with Covid and at the same time my knee completely locked up so no Astro at all in July! I made a slight recovery from my injury so made the most of August and I still have some images to process but from the beginning of September up until now I’ve been recovering from major surgery on my knee and its been a long long way back and I might not even make it back for the start of Astro season next year!

Back to these images, the night began with a couple of cheeky Balter IPA beers, as you do lol, while we took some blue hour images then began shooting the night sky but boy did the temperature plummet. We were in t-shirts during the twilights but the dew point hit really quickly and lens heaters were required plus our jumpers, fleeces, bubble jackets etc!

It was a memorable night and one to look back on fondly, as my Milkyway chasing for the year came to an early end, and that’s a big part of it for me, it’s not the images it’s being out there looking up at the dark and glorious Southern skies and the jewels it contains and sharing that experience with like minded people.

Seeing as I dropped my camera on my last photo shoot, I now have time to process a few images from my trek along the Bellarine and Great Ocean Road.

This image is one of the piers at Queenscliff, taken just after sunrise, Queenscliff always gives me good memories of times that I spent with friends at this location.

As the Milkyway rises really early now we headed into the Wheatbelt to this location initially to grab some blue hour shots for a blend but quickly realised we wouldn’t really need them.

Once nighttime began which on this night was 6:56PM we began shooting our compositions for the night and with the core already at 50° altitude we had to work reasonably quickly before it passed directly overhead at around 9:30PM. This was my second comp of the night and is a three row forty frame panorama at 20mm set amongst the amazing and photogenic boulders, some bigger than the size of a bus! The lighting from the crescent moon was great to work with as it began descending in the west. So for once we were all done and dusted for 10 o’clock and headed home after spending a short but fulfilling night under the Milkyway.

The image is a 40 frame three row panorama.

The tall basalt columns of Bombo Quarry, close to Kiama Australia. The columns themselves are hexagonal in shape and shoot up 10-15meters above you. To put things into perspective the stone in front is a little taller than a person. Shooting this location has to be one of my top 5 seascape spots in NSW. During high tide, seen in this photo, the waves crash into the columns and spray high in the air, but they also wash up on to the platform I was shooting from. This makes it a pretty dangerous location and you always need to be aware of the ocean. Since I've been around the ocean a lot I know to be ready for the "set", which is a larger set of waves that arrives every 5 minutes or so. Highly recommend this place to other photographers :-)

...exploring the countryside close to home and ended up on this gravel road near Ripley. Just over the crest, a massive residential subdivision is under construction. It will be interesting to see what this road will look like in another year....

getting torn between shooting the sunset or this road - the sun created such a deep golden hue over the landscape that I just had to sneak in a shot.

Kalbarri Pink Salt Lake Western Australia

Taken with DJI Phantom 4 Pro

Kalbarri is a resort town at the mouth of the Murchison River, on Western Australia's coast. It’s known for its seaside cliffs, estuary beach and wild pelicans. Nearby Kalbarri National Park has rocky gorges like the iconic Z Bend, named for a sharp bend in the river. The park’s coast is home to resident dolphins and seasonal humpback whales, seen from a boardwalk beside the Island Rock and Natural Bridge rock forms.

Denham - Western Australia

Located on the western coast of the Peron Peninsula 831 kilometres (516 mi) north of Perth, Denham is the westernmost publicly accessible town in Australia, and is named in honour of Captain Henry Mangles Denham of the Royal Navy, who charted Shark Bay in 1858. Today Denham survives as the gateway for the tourists who come to see the dolphins at Monkey Mia, which is located 23 kilometres (14 mi) northeast of the town. The town also has an attractive beach and a jetty popular with those interested in fishing and boating.
