Photos taken at Smathers Beach in Key West Florida on a beautiful day in January 2011. I love the tropical dry season as the humidity is so much lower and you can open up your windows and let a lovely sea breeze into your home

Family friend invited me out to do some nature shooting at Lettuce Lake Park so I brought out the heavy hitter setup of the Canon 5D Mk III and Canon 100-400mm L. First time I've ever went out purely to take pics at a nature preserve. Definitely won't be my last.
Here's a batch of photos I took while driving and travelling through Florida a few weeks back.
I was staying in Kissimmee, but I drove East to the Space Coast to Canaveral National Seashore and Oak Hill, followed by a trip south to Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park. I also spent a few hours at Brownie Wise Park, known for its wildlife and bird watching.
I don't know a whole lot about different species of things, like what kind of frog that is, what those birds ate in the water reflection photo, or that little yellow bird in the field.
What I do know is that the turtle is a Spiny Soft Shelled Turtle, one of the birds is a young eagle, one is an Osprey, two Cardinals and well, obviously two deer!
