While drifting across the beautiful waters of Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park, the captain shared the lake's remarkable history. I discovered that over the year’s it has become a popular scuba diving site due to its underwater submerged townsite, leaving artifacts still today 60 feet below the waters surface. From its ancient Indigenous origins to the early settlement era, I’ve learned that Lake Minnewanka has an incredibly deep & meaningful history.
A short family hike in David Thompson Country, this hike takes you up the creek with some wet feet and fun in the water along the way.
