Daybreak reaches the summit of a mountain range in the Canadian Rockies. In early mornings the banner clouds often cling to the east facing slopes of the taller mountains resulting in dramatic mountain vistas.
Long exposures again... I think I'm doing ok with them. I do need a nice ND filter I think though. This was handheld too...
Atop the summit of Mount St. Piran yesterday. Looking over towards the peaks of Whyte and Nimblok in Banff NP. Enjoying the freshly fallen snow.
While shooting some photos in Elk Island National Park, we got to talking with a couple of conservation officers who were checking out the same wildlife we were. They let us know about an area down the road where they had recently seen the glossy ibis you see pictured here. According to the conversation officers, the ibis are an uncommon bird to be seen in that particular area of the park. I’m honoured to have been around at the right time to see these beautiful waders in Astotin Lake. My lens wasn’t long enough so they aren’t perfect, but I surprised myself with how well these shots came out.
After chasing the moon rise yesterday I couldn't help capture the historical moment of harvesting in November in Alberta.
