A Space display is the opportunity to make small "funny" vehicles
We start soft with a classic exploration rover : Lunar Exploration Rover
A beautiful bird. One of nearly 30 in a wonderful aviary at Turtle Bay Exploration Park in Redding, California.
Even after having spent years around these birds, they never cease to amaze me. They are just strikingly beautiful, and such a delight to photograph. Full of spunk and personality - and you never know when one is going to decide to land on your head. Don't freak out when it happens! They're just going to use you as a perch for a bit.
Oh, and don't stand under them. You might get pooped on.
But if you're smart in your approach, you can get a fantastic photo without getting pooped on!
They are very inquisitive, social birds. You can see it in this photo, just from the way he looks at the camera.
It is such a joy to spend time around these birds.

Who wants to go kayaking into the depths of an amazing ice cave? Well, that's exactly what we did when we last visited Valdez, AK.
Blog: www.tnwaphotography.wordpress.com
Not far from town is the Valdez Glacier, where we decided to go kayaking in the freshwater lake that leads to the glacier. It was the first nice day since we had been in Valdez, so we were quite excited. The day was spent paddling around the icebergs throughout the lake, which were broken off from the glacier over time in this ever-changing habitat. Glaciers, as just mentioned, exist is a constant state of change, as do the formations found within them. Tom & I had been sea kayaking within glaciers before, but not like this. We were in search of ice caves!
We were lead into many smaller ice caves that were in their early stages of development and I was quite thrilled. However, when we entered this ice cave "tunnel", I was totally blown away! The sound of the ice crystals popping and the waters dripping down from the glacier into the icy waters below heightened our senses. The meandering turns in the cave brought exhilaration with ever corner. That glacial blue ice shining through was probably the cherry on top of the sundae for me. It was, as they say, sensory overload ... of the best imaginable kind. As you can imagine, I didn't want to leave.

I’ve traveled the world twice over,
Met the famous; saints and sinners,
Poets and artists, kings and queens,
Old stars and hopeful beginners,
I’ve been where no one’s been before,
Learned secrets from writers and cooks
All with one library ticket
To the wonderful world of books.

A morning when I've gone off-road with my father in order to discover unseen places of martinique. Next time I'll be there way more early and I'll bring a better shot :)

This composite image made from seven frames shows the International Space Station, with a crew of seven onboard, in silhouette as it transits the Sun at roughly five miles per second, Friday, June 25, 2021, from near Nellysford, Va. Onboard are Expedition 65 NASA astronauts Megan McArthur, Mark Vande Hei, Shane Kimbrough, ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Thomas Pesquet, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Akihiko Hoshide, and Roscosmos cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov and Oleg Novitskiy. At the time of the transit, Kimbrough and Pesquet were working outside on the station’s port 6 truss to install the second ISS Roll-Out Solar Array (iROSA) on the 4B power channel. The smell of the salty sea, the feel of the sand underfoot, the waves crashing against the beach, and the unknown expanses of the land beyond...
The feeling of adventure cannot be supressed!
Soli Deo Gloria :)
Regulars may remember that several years ago, an exploration followed Dorset's River Frome from source to mouth. In this photo, not far from Maiden Newton Station, our new exploration along the route of the Bridport Railway branch line crosses the route of the R. Frome exploration.
To the top and right, the embankment of the railway line can be seen under which the river flows. Adjacent and In the foreground, an old public right-of-way bridge crosses the Frome. More or less in the middle of the photo, a sluice gate can also be seen that can regulate the flow depending on the weather conditions though how often it is still used I do not know.
Incidentally, running along the valley is part of the Macmillan Way, a 290 mile / 470 kms trail from Boston, Lincolnshire to Abbotsbury, Dorset. It is named after the Macmillan Charity dedicated to cancer relief.
The Leviathan, an exploration submarine.
I also have a set of arms and some tanks/cilinders to attach to the landing frame but In the end I liked it better without those.
I don't think I can make it much better than this, it took 4 prototypes to make me satisfied.

This colour-coded topographic image shows Trouvelot Crater and its surroundings on Mars.
It was created from data collected by ESA’s Mars Express on 12 October 2024 (orbit 26233) and is based on a digital terrain model of the region, from which the topography of the landscape can be derived. Lower parts of the surface are shown in blues and purples, while higher altitude regions show up in whites and reds, as indicated on the scale to the top right.
North is to the right. The ground resolution of the original image is approximately 18 m/pixel and the image is centred at about 15°N/255°E.
[Image description: A top‑down view of a colourful Martian terrain map. The surface is shaded in bright colours that represent elevation: high areas appear in pinks and reds, while lower regions fade into greens, then deep blues. Several circular impact craters are visible throughout, with their rims highlighted by the changing colours. The overall effect is a vibrant, textured landscape showing the height differences across the area.]
