Want to explain to the insurance company why your windshield was crushed by a 20pound calabash? This is actually my friends car and we didn't notice the looming doom until we got out of the car. Luckily the horrid plant did not fall on us.
I spent the past 2 weeks in Beijing with my hubby. Much has changed since 2006-2007 when we lived there: the skies are blue, the smog is gone and visibility is completely different. I knew China did it's utmost to change Beijing for the olympics but I never thought the change could be long term. The streets were green with trees and pomegranates, sharons and calabash were hanging from electric cords almost as if nature was taking back the city. It was beautiful, even though many old hutongs have been taken down and alien looking modern architecture taking their place. We really look forward to moving back to China.

The show is one of the largest modelling exhibitions in the UK, blending the full spectrum of model creation from traditional model engineering, steam locomotives and traction engines through to more modern gadgets and ‘boys toys’ including trucks, boats, aeroplanes and helicopters.
Over 45 national and regional modelling clubs and societies and associations will be displaying their member’s work and competing to win the prestigious Society Shield. In total, nearly 2,000 models will be on display. Around 14,000 visitors are expected to visit over the next three days.

This is the last of three stereo views of the region around the lunar crater Paracelsus created from Apollo 15 Metric Camera images as explained in the reduced size general view of the region.

This particular image focuses on the region around Paracelsus Y, the 25 km diameter that straddles the northwest wall of Paracelsus. The images were combined at their original scale. Unfortunately Flickr has re-sized it, so even if you click “All sizes” and download the “Large” one, it will only be 976x1024 pixels in size. It was intended to be 2198x2306 .
In this view you should be able to see the striking, shadow-casting promontory at the lower left of Paracelsus Y, and the two places in the northwest rim where sections 7 or 8 km in diameter seem to have collapsed, leaving the trail of debris slumped onto the crater floor. According to LTVT, the shadows cast into these slumped bowls indicate height differences of 1300 m for the one at the top, and 1200 m for the left. The collapsed material largely in the form of corrugated ridges, and the shadows cast by those ridges connect points separated in height by, typically 300-800 m. To the south, 15 km long section of the south rim of Paracelsus Y seems to be missing, with similarly shaped ridges descending to the floor of Paracelsus below. However nearly identical ridges continue to the right, in an area to which the collapsed rim of Paracelsus Y would not seem to have contributed. So exactly what causes these regions, and where the material came from, is not entirely clear.
