Looking at our campus from above you can get a sense of how the large yurts containing gathering spaces and kitchen facilities are positioned relative to the dorms and large bathing/restroom facilities.

The Shower Shack contains Men's and Women's toilet and shower facilities as well as our laundry room and gear shed.

Our Spruce Knob Mountain Center sits on the shoulder and in the shadow of Spruce Knob at 4000'. Built on the edge of the woods our buildings offer direct access to both the spruce forest and the open plains.

Bunks and twin beds, with plenty of warm bedding available.

A bird's eye view of most of our 400 acre campus.

The first yurt constructed on our property almost 45 years ago is the woods-bound Bukhara. All of our private bedroom yurts have a twin bed, work desk, luggage shelf, electric lights and space heater and can also be converted into small group meeting space.

We find it safest and best to literally and figuratively slow down a bit when you arrive.

Viewed from above you can see how the two conjoined yurts + back deck create a unit.

Our [P]ooper! This solar-powered composting toilet is located in close proximity to the large yurts. Might be the lovliest and most pleasant composting toilet you'll ever have the chance to use! Comes highly recommended.

When you enter the front door of Ulan Bator you come immediately into this dining/small group meeting area.

Our other large yurt, Almati, is a simpler structure with one large meeting room.

Yet more seating, meeting, eating and gathering space on this level of Ulan Bator.

And next to the fire circle, our weather station. Yes, you can check the weather conditions right at SKMC anytime right here: www.wunderground.com/weather/us/wv/circleville/KWVCIRCL4

Wood-heated, we have optional tables and chairs that can be set up in this space when appropriate. Also chalkboard and projector and screen.

The bottom "floor" of Ulan Bator houses our kitchen facilities. Managed and run by our cook Russell Andrews, our kitchen is simple, clean and produces delicious food for groups from 10-500 people.

Whenever possible we conduct meeting, eating and educational opportunities outside on our deck or beyond.

Most guests find these small yurts comforting in their simplicity and peaceful settings. By removing the bed each private yurt can easily be transformed into small group meeting space.

The next level up above the dining space houses our library.

Beyond the deck you will find the fire circle.

Each of these cozy buildings has 4 rooms of 5 beds.

Central seating in the library zone with ladder leading to ...

Tagdumbash, another bedroom yurt. We have 4 of these private bedroom yurts total.

Just past the large yurts you come to the dorms.

Organized by subject the library is full of fantastic resources for our programs or for inspired individuals to dig deeper into a topic from the day.

The Bubble! A favorite group gathering space with built-in star or storm-watching window.

One path from Ulan Bator to the Shower Shack and private yurts.

Recycling facilities. It is harder up here, but we still manage to recycle most things. (No options for glass though! Please try to bring minimal glass packaging or plan to take it back with you to recycle.)

Cozy research, reading and small group meeting space opposite the library.

Almati's simple but inspiring architecture creates a special atmosphere for larger group meetings and projects.
