I have had some great squash to photograph and then eat this winter - one of my favorite winter foods since it keeps its heat on the plate - a real comfort food!! This one is kabuke (sp?) I also like the repeat of the geometric lines here between the squash and my rug :>)

this lil caption on my tea candle package "exotic woods" caught my eye...cause ...lol...my last name is woods - i don't mind thinking of my self as exotic - in the sense that there is an element of unknown because it doesn't conform to the expectation of how i appear to be, is "suppose" to mean....yea - so in that sense, every form has pre-conceived notion - a stereo type tagged on to it...and i don't adhere to mine...and i'm fully aware of what it is too...cause it used to make me ashamed, until i realized, i had the power to redefine it...

we all become exotic when we break the norm...just by being true to our self.
