The Phalaenopsis orchid is commonly known as the moth orchid as the flowers are borne on slender arching stems and the the white ones do look like moths in mid flight. This is a warm growing orchid and needs temperatures of at least 15C (60F) during the winter and can be allowed to rise up to 28C (82F) during the summer - 20C - 22C being the optimum.
Phalaenopsis Orchid plants are also called the "moth orchid", as their flowers resemble the shape of a moth or butterfly. These are one of the very easiest orchids to grow, and often bloom for over 3 months! Let us show you how to care for these wonderful plants.

While I was waiting for the overnight bus to Philadelphia I spotted this Indian family engaged in a game of Cruisin' Exotica. They eventually found the India stage and got a big kick out of it. The father stands off from the rest of the family pretending to be unamused, but he was as into it as the rest of them. Eventually he even walked over and played the game himself.
Even though I didn't understand what they were saying, it was clear that they were talking about the Indian stereotypes used in the India course: the elephants, the deserts and palm trees, the Taj Mahal, etc.
my friend Lena (pictured elsewhere in my photos) brought this arghile back for me from her trip to Syria for her cousin's wedding. Most people in the states probably know it better as a hookah
