As we aproached the lake, I heard some fellow hikers exclaim "It looks like they use food colouring here!" I thought: photo-op. I don't use any of the 'magical' settings on my camera, but this time I didn't have my glasses on. When I got back home and looked at the pic on my computer I thought "What the heck!" I must have inadvertantly moved the dial. Even though I almost deleted it, after a while this funky image kind of grew on me. Next time though, I will have my glasses on.

“This is why I live here!” exclaims many a Vancouverite during cherry blossom season. Each spring, as the rainy season fades, city dwellers pack their sweaters away and are rewarded with one of the world’s most cheerful sites: 40,000 cherry trees bursting with pink and white blooms. www.tourismvancouver.com/activities/sightseeing/cherry-bl...

This is a beautiful crucifix orchid my aunt Judy has growing in her wonderful garden.
I was taken aback when these eye catching and almost fluorescent flowers caught my attention. So pretty! When I exclaimed my wonder Judy immediately says 'Oh well we'll get you some cuttings' and proceeded to break off a healthy handful of branches. I'm happy to say that every single one of them has taken including the one I gave my cousin Mary which is growing on her table. Yay!!
I love that plants and gardening can bring people together and create great memories that keep on growing.
Jan 2018 update ... two of the cuttings have just set their first flowers 👍
I promised Mr. Thistle an adventure but told him that he would have to behave himself. No chasing cows, no biting anyone and no threatening ear attitude! He promised. And he was very good, scampering about and only discreetly nibbling on the grass in the meadow, leaving the flowers alone. I was very proud of him as he is a mischievous pony, and he finds it very difficult to rein in his wickedness most of the time!
Suddenly he caught sight of these cute cows! "Mom, look at their horns! They are bigger than yours!" he exclaimed, ears pinned back, trying to be menacing. I had to laugh at the rascal! But he was soon back to the lush grass, enjoying every minute of his outing from our farm to Bambi's Melody.

I exclaimed "the Queen" in my mind when seeing this giant dragonfly elegantly laying eggs from the surface of the water like posing a dance. Later on I did some research to find out the name of this dragonfly species is "Emperor Dragonfly" or "Blue Emperor" - I think they deserve these names!

If you are curious about why I made this post:
I made this post to deliver my homework commitment to www.flickr.com/photos/vincent__buuron/, who ordered me a task to take "something involving a natural mirror, like an insect flying above the water, and it's reflection", in reference to his post www.flickr.com/photos/vincent__buuron/51323363398/in/date....
I have to say that I finally completed this task today but the photographs were not as exciting/beautiful as the old photos I took some years back. (I realized that this year I have missed the best month to take photographs of dragonflies and damselflies to lay eggs from the surface of the water) Therefore I am posting this image from 2018 instead ;-)
I caught this macro when I went for a walk in the woods next to my new apartment, and my goodness me was pestilence the name of the day, I have never ever seen so many Mosquitoes in area as much as I have witnessed here. So I applied the appropriate protection, hugged my girlfriend just before I left and she exclaims...
"Oooh you smell nice, what is that?"
My reply...
"Insect repellent darling..." True story!
Sooooo, with that said I hope everyone is well and as always, thank you, stay smelly! :)
Mr Merlin watched one of his favourite toys Lady BugBug going into the doggy treat cupboard, but when she didn't return he grew concerned for her. Merlin decided to open the treat cupboard but he still couldn't find Lady BugBug, he called for her and she didn't answer.
He climbed into the treat cupboard and went searching for his dear friend, she wasn't behind the smackos, she wasn't in the scooby snack box and he almost became sidetracked by the yummy carob covered peanut clusters but finding his friend was so much more important than filling his stomach. At he back of the cupboard he found a curtain with a strange green light illuminating behind it, "that's very strange" he thought. To his surprise, when he pulled the curtain back he found an enchanted land.
He walked through this beautiful land until he saw a splash of red among some blue flowers, "Lady BugBug what are you doing here" he cried in happiness.
Lady BugBug said " I'm here because purple unicorn has had a baby and I wanted to bring her a present and I thought that because blue is her favourite colour these flowers would be perfect. But they are stuck fast and I am not strong enough to pull them out"
Merlin exclaimed "I am big, I can do it and I would love to see a baby unicorn." So Merlin pulled the blue flowers up but he didn't see all the pretty blue butterflies sitting on them, without their flowers they decided that they would fly around and sit on Merlin's head.
Merlin and Lady BugBug eventually found Mrs Unicorn and her new baby, she was very shy but also delighted by their thoughtful Mother's Day gift.
Our Way of Celebrating Togetherness, Tossing Up Abundance
The loud, joyous, and colourful tradition of lohei, or the tossing of raw fish salad, is a boisterous Chinese New Year highlight in Singapore. Every ingredient has a symbolic, auspicious phrase to be exclaimed as it is added to the salad, and diners often toss the salad as high as possible into the air to welcome greater abundance and prosperity (read the symbolism here:- www.roots.gov.sg/stories-landing/stories/Lohei )

Flat Irons Manifesto
From a distance between the top of the world as so exclaimed by those who blasted through these rocks and the place called Arena below the Big Ten is an incredible place of cathedrals of giant granite that slice upward like guardians of the Great Plains. Morning Spring snow still falls in the marbled sunshine on the pines and red rocks of these great slabs while a BNSF train resplendent in a variety of tones emerges from tunnel 4. Its hard to believe without seeing it with your own eyes a train cuts right through these granite towers; most definitely not around it.
Luckily I had my boots with me as you need to walk in through a soggy field.
Completed in 1462, and consecrated by Donatus O’Connor-Sligo, a Dominican monk, and member of a noble family which gave more than one bishop to the See of Killala, it is told, Moyne was to rise to prominence within Irish Franciscan circles, with Provincial Chapters of the order being held there on several occasions between 1464 and 1550. At its zenith the monastery boasted a valuable library, infirmary, two mills for grinding corn, excellent pasturage, pools for fish, a water-mill and a never-failing spring of wholesome water. The community including priests, professors, students and lay-brothers, would have numbered upwards of 50.
According to a local legend reminiscent of the selection of the site of the church of ‘Sancta Maria ad Nives’ in Rome, the monks had their choice of all of the lands owned by their benefactor, and having examined several likely sites, O Donoghue, the Provincial, in the company of a Father Chilvart, settled on Moyne (Maighin translated as a small plain), apparently with the help of either a little robin or wren. The little robin was held in high regard by the Irish as this bird was said to have got its red breast through its efforts to stanch the blood on the brow of the crucified Christ. Conversely, the wren is a maligned bird as it was regarded as promiscuous, which would not have endeared it to the more puritanical of Christian preachers. Apparently the upright tail of the wren was viewed as sexual imagery, as was the black chafer, which raises its tail when threatened. The chafer (known in Irish as daradaol or deargadaol ) also had an anti-Christian representation as it was believed that it informed on Christ, thereby leading to His arrest.
In any case, the intervention of the robin was taken as a divine gesture, after which the Provincial exclaimed: ‘God has shown us and that is the site of our monastery,’ and further referred to the location as:
The abbey stands on the site of an earlier oratory attributed to St. Muinchin/Mucna, a local folk-saint. He is reputed to have been a disciple of St. Patrick’s who ruled a church which is called Maighin; that he lived until about 520AD and that his birthday was celebrated at Moyne on the 4 March.
Hello friends, you will visit Sicily with me, the next two weeks? = O)
Last summer's trip, Sicily is a land full of beauty and contrasts, contrasts that I want to differentiate in two parts, the first with photos of the most tourist sites and the second is a look of a most quotidian life in your streets.
Welcome to my series "La Sicilia è ..."
Have a great weekend!!
Zoinks! Danielle, Vanessa, and Stumpy Poo gaze out of the window as the banshee approaches the old house. Suddenly the monster lets out an ear-splitting scream so intense, that even Stumpy covers his ears.
Recovering from the banshee's cry, the girls look back, watching the ghastly sight then exclaim to each other in unison."Like, she called us meddling kids?!"
I'd like to thank my friend Madison (Maddy) who was nice enough to pose with me for this pic. We had a lot of fun hanging out at this spooky place that night. Thanks girl.♥

This capture was taken on the night of Septermber 16, 2022 at Arronmore. When I went back, sadly Arronmore was gone. Someone might let me know, but this may be the last shot taken at the beloved sim.
Arronmore was very special and we're all going to miss it.
This capure was taken for the In Good Company Erotica Gallery for their October show.
Taken roughly half an hour before the previous shot looking south.. the waves had an almost mesmerising effect or hypnotic.. Either way I just enjoyed watching them and was actually pleased that the tide was going out as this is the place where I got hyperthermia when literally frozen like a rabbit caught in headlights after my wellies filled with water and on hearing someone exclaim realised people were behind me and found myself unable to move. Definitely an empty beach on this occasion so I just enjoyed the waves.....

—¡Buenos días! —dijo.
Era un jardín cuajado de rosas.
—¡Buenos días! —dijeron las rosas.
El Principito las miró. ¡Todas se parecían tanto a su flor!
—¿Quiénes son ustedes? —les preguntó estupefacto.
—Somos las rosas —respondieron éstas.
—¡Ah!

-Good Morning! -said.
It was a garden full of roses.
-Good Morning! Said the roses.
The little prince looked at them. They all looked so much like his flower!
-Who are you? He asked dumbfounded.
"We are the roses," they replied.
—Ah! Exclaimed the little prince.
And he felt very unhappy. His flower had told him she was the only one of her kind in the entire universe. And now he had before his eyes more than five thousand all similar, in a single garden!

said the fox. Here is my secret, which cannot be simpler: only with the heart can one see well; The essential is invisible to the eyes.
"The essential is invisible to the eyes," repeated the little prince to remember.
"What makes your rose more important is the time you have been with it. (...)

Decades ago my radio alarm woke me just as the DJ said that it's the first of the month and if you exclaim "Rabbit Rabbit" before your feet touch the ground, you'll have luck all month long. (before saying anything else)
When my kids were very young, I used to read a story to them about a Trickster Rabbit and a Hungry Coyote. When the rabbit escaped, he hid on the moon and the Coyote would exclaim, "Conejo malvado".
Rockport Harbor
Rockport, MA
06-10-23
This little fishing shack at the end of the wharf in the small seaside town of Rockport, Massachusetts is quite famous. According to newengland.com it's the most painted building in the world. That's saying something. It adorns the cover of almost every tourist map and book I encountered when in New England and of course I made a point to photograph it.
Since everyone always tells me my HDR photos "look like paintings" anyway, I applied some "secret" art filters on top of the HDR and did some other stuff to make an attempt to really show the subject somewhat "painterly."
The view here isn't what I've usually seen in all the other photos and paintings of this building. That's possibly because I didn't just stand on the wharf, but got down to the floating wharf in the middle of the harbor.
The original fishing shack was built in the 1840s. It was destroyed in the "great blizzard of 1978" and rebuilt later that year. Here is some history from the newengland.com website:
"As Rockport gained notoriety as an artists’ haven, painters flocked to the town to capture the true-blue New England scenes. One such painter, Lester Hornby, loved the area and taught painting classes in the summer. He would send his students out to paint whatever scenes caught their eyes, and he noticed a trend in the work he got back. His students seemed to favor the little red building over anything else on Rockport’s seaside landscape. It was the quintessential icon of a New England fishing town, right down to the ever-so-slightly weathered paint. It was becoming a “motif” — a French term for a theme within a work of art that often repeats itself. Legend has it that upon being presented with yet another rendition of the shack, Hornby exclaimed “What? Motif No. 1 again!” and we’ve been calling it that ever since."
When Inca Mayta Capac saw the huge volcano he exclaimed with astonishment: "A Misti ... only a Misti can be the origin of that" (Misti in Quechua means: Lord). Looking to the left, he saw another imposing mountain, covered with snow, and he exclaimed: "Chachani ... protects Misti (" Chachani "means mountain of snow).
This is my version of the co-operative effort with Tim Poulton.
Having settled into my sleeping bag earlier I was surprised by Tim returning from his call to nature exclaiming "you better check this out".
The moon had emerged from the clouds and was lighting up the side of Craig's Hut spectacularly.
We raced outside to setup our gear and started to capture some frames. However something was missing. We needed to bring the hut to life. With no high powered lamps we resorted to Tim's shellite fuel.
There were quite a few logistical problems with capturing this image. Firstly the time it would take to shoot the 7 frame pano at 15 sec per frame would prove problematic with the moon disappearing behind the clouds regularly. Also Tim had to carefully manage the interior lighting for 2 minutes and not burn or gas himself or create another $300k rebuild.
Cheers
Now and then I have these arguments with Olymp. Like today. All right, the Sun was wonderfully bright. But Olymp thought too bright for him. 'Blinding', he complained. 'And how do you expect me to catch the Green of Witches' Milk - mind you, he translates from the Dutch 'Heksenmelk' as if he doesn't know that I know - anyway, Yes, Euphorbia's green was very fierce in the wonderful Sun.
But he did get a nice shot of what I think is a Sawfly of the Tenthredopsis kind. 'No!' he exclaimed, 'don't ask me. You're the one who reads those field guides...'
And so there we are...
House on Highway 161, Aroostook County in northern Maine
Truly nothing was scary about this house. I passed it frequently driving on Highway 161 in Aroostook County, Maine. When I posted this image a friend exclaimed that it looked scary; thus the "scary house" was born.
Ravello : Villa Rufolo - Moorish courtyard variously decorated with Friezes and Arabesque , on the left Torre Maggiore , originally difensive work , currently with mullioned windows -13 th century.
Built in 1300 by the noble Roman family. Rich in banks and ships in Puglia and Sicily.
Landolfo Rufolo is remembered by Boccaccio in the Decameron (4th story - 2nd day).
It then passed to several families, but it was a Scotsman who in 1851 bought it and restored it and made it possible to open it to visitors: his name was Nevil Reid who was a passionate re-enactor of the glories and beauties of Ravello, whom he loved and where he stayed long.
There are many stories related to the villa and its gardens. Among these the best known is the inspiration they gave to Richard Wagner who as soon as he saw them exclaimed: the garden of Klingsor is found. And they also had considerable importance for the inspiration of Parsifal.
She gathered as much books as she could from the abandoned library. Dusting each cover lovingly while ogling over them. There were two more books that caught her eyes. Going on her tip-toes, she reached as high as she could stretch but she was just too short for the books she wanted to reach.
"Let me." he said.
"Oh, please!" she exclaimed, happily, feeling his palm on her shoulder as a gesture to relax.
He whispered a spell and she watched his wand point at the exact books she wanted, making them glide of the shelf swiftly and almost playfully. Instead of reaching her arms that was already full of books, he took them in his hold and grinned.
"Hey!"
"Your hands are full, how are you going to hold them? With your head?" he asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Nothing is impossible!" she muttered, moving towards the empty seat and setting her other books down.
"I brought us some butterbeer!" He announced.
And that is how a Hufflepuff and a Ravenclaw decided to spend their free time...
P.S. This was inspired by our love for Hogwarts houses but I managed to include my abandoned library that was initially inspired by this picture I saw. Thank you Unir for being patient and for the fun time shopping around for something that suits. It took us a month? xD
For Smile on saturday#Shades of brown
Just when I thought I would not have a picture for a new topic (I have a cold and I was in bed), my husband came from a market with a bag of these brown mushrooms, among other things. When I saw these mushrooms, I exclaimed a brown, brown, got out of bed and took my camera. He was surprised but quickly said ''Ok, when you can take a photo of mushrooms, then you can cook them too"
Now you know what I will do tomorrow. There will be on the menu Pan seared garlic butter steak & mushroom cream sauce (his favorite meal)
Let's fun and HSoS!
Today my father called to ask me if my daughter was alright after she rolled her car 4 times. What!!!!! I exclaimed, who told you that. He informed me that it was posted on my nieces Facebook page. Apparently, Facebook spits out anniversary facts along with a photo and today was the day that my daughter rolled her car 4 years ago.
As we spoke, I turned to see the perfect conditions unfolding before my very eyes, Since I have become interested in landscape photography I have waited two years for the right light, clouds and snow cover to envelope the mountain so that I could capture it in the style I’m accustomed to photographing, and finally the day had come.
This is the view of Mount Baldy which sits right behind my home and is the view that I see every day that I step into my backyard, except my view is contaminated by large power lines that spoil my vantage point. I was hoping that the tip of the peak would be in view but alas, at the last minute the clouds rolled over the top and obscured the top most portion of the mountain. Just as Ansel Adams said. “Landscape photography is the supreme test of the photographer- and often the supreme disappointment” I won’t say the I was disappointed but I am still waiting for the ultimate shot of this mountain top, and one day I will have my prize. :) Hope you like it. :)
If you have any questions about this photo or about photography in general, I will do my best to help, just post a comment or send me a Flickr mail and I will respond as quickly as possible.
Thanks for taking the time to take a look at my photos, and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great weekend my friends!! :)

View from People's Committee Head Office: Uncle Ho Statue and Nguyen Hue Boulevard.
When I came to Saigon for the first time in 2004, Sinh Cafe's Open Tour Bus passed by this area before getting to Pham Ngu Lao. I remember that a passenger in the bus exclaimed "Oh, Champs-Élysées!"
At that time, this area really looked like that.
Time has passed. Many French colonial buildings are now replaced with shiny high-rise buildings, and those still survive look dwarfed by them.
This is now Uncle Ho's city.
Upon seeing Iguaçu, the former first lady of the United States, Eleanor Roosevelt, would have exclaimed:
- Poor Niagara!
The Iguaçu River rises in the Serra do Mar, close to the city of Curitiba, covering the entire state of Paraná through 1,320 km towards the west until it meets the Paraná River on the border with Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. The waterfalls, whose number varies from 150 to 270, according to the dry and rainy seasons, fall in a width of approximately 2,700 meters, reaching a quantity of 6,500 m3 / s during the flood season.
The system consists of 275 waterfalls along 2.7 km of the Iguaçu River. Some of the individual falls are up to 82 meters high, although most are about 64 meters. The Devil's Throat (in Spanish: Garganta del Diablo), a U-shaped drop, is 82 meters high, 150 meters wide and 700 meters long, is the most impressive of all the falls and marks the border between the Argentina and Brazil.
Two thirds of the falls are in Argentine territory. About 900 meters of the 2.7 km long, there is no water flowing over it. The edge of the basalt cover recedes about 3 mm per year. The water from the lower Iguaçu accumulates in a canyon that drains into the Paraná River, a short distance from the Itaipu Hydroelectric Plant. The junction between water marks the border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. There are points in the cities of Foz do Iguaçu, in Brazil, Puerto Iguazú, in Argentina, and Ciudad del Este, in Paraguay, which have access to the Iguaçu River, where the borders of the three countries can be seen, a popular tourist attraction for visitors of the three cities.
Who can pay for this! It is a common saying of our people when they want to brag about the natural beauty they are surrounded by. This is exactly what anyone who finds themselves in such a place would exclaim.
It all starts with a blank page. A page that we tend to memorize every bump, lines, size and plenty more unnecessary details that would not be of any use while we procrastinate on what to write, draw, sketch or doodle?
She huffed while leaning into the wooden table, adjusting herself into the chair more comfortably. Her brows furrowed with concentration as she lifted her pen across the page just so close to write something. The fresh ink happily dissolving into the fine paper when suddenly a screech distracted her and before she knew it, they invaded her foundation. Why was she even surprised?
Receiving licks from 'Present' who was always so needy and went as far as to climb over her arm to reach her face. 'Change' was nearby, grunting towards her, giving her those sweet eyes that she noticed and sighed, reaching to scratch his ear, "Soon, soon!" she exclaimed. 'Past' was just chilling in a corner, in her own world, tongue out, tail wagging and quite content for now not to be disturbed. Meanwhile, 'Future' was digging around and sniffing everything on the table. What was the little fluffer up to this time?
P.S. Thankkk youu my Master Ms. Yoda for the fluffy cuddable Foxies! Aren't they just the best?

Been rusting in rubble
Running to a faint
Need a brand new coat of paint
I found myself in trouble
Thinking 'bout what ain't
Never gonna be a saint
Saying float like an eagle
Fall like the rain
Pouring to put out the pain
Oh again and again
Now I'm hyp, hypnotised
Yeah I trip, when I look in your eyes
Oh I'm hyp, hypnotised
Yeah I slip and I'm mesmerized
It's easy to be lethal
Learning from the news
It's a guidebook for the blues
Saying it's the very same steeple
People wanna chose
They just see it from different views
And threading the needle
Fixing my flame
Oh, oh now I'm moved to exclaim
Oh again, and again
How I'm hyp, hypnotised
Yeah I trip, when I look in your eyes
Oh I'm hyp, hypnotized
Yeah I lift and I'm mesmerized
Oh-oh oh, oh-oh oh, oh-oh-oh oh-oh oohh
Oh again, and again
And I'm hyp, hypnotised
Yeah I lift to a permanent high
Oh I'm hyp, hypnotised
It was dark
Now it's sunrise
"Il luogo è lontano da ogni impaccio e mondano tumulto.
Qui ogni strepito d'uomini o d'animali; non frastuono, non ruggiti.
La pianura d'Italia, gioconda di laghi e di fiumi, vi si stende a far lieti gli sguardi umani.
Gli inverni vi sono tiepidi, e l'estate rassomiglia a primavera
Fra tale e tanta quiete la mente dei servi di Dio esclama giuliva:
Grande è il Signore"

Here every noise of men or animals; do not racket, do not roar.

Winters are warm there, and summer looks like spring
Between such and such stillness the mind of the servants of God joyfully exclaims:
Great is the Lord "

Crazy Tuesday, Festive
A spot that I always make a point to visit, the north end of Goose Lake in the summer is always good for a good shot on a sunny day. After hearing of some friends struggling to find the trail, going through clusters of ticks, and exclaim the trail was non-existent, I had to see for myself, since it was clear last summer. To no surprise, the trail was still there, an easy hike, and an excellent shot of a right on time U745 with yet another pair of SD60s leading the way.
So exclaims a marsh wren on a beautiful sunny morning!
Thanks so much for your views and comments!

It was an adventure that she couldn't believe finally turned into a reality. She excitedly bounced down the street, humming a tune while heading towards the coffee shop they agreed to meet at.
Her form bumped into someone as she was turning into the other street.
"Oh sorry!"
"You!?" he exclaimed.
"Oh my god! YOU!" she exclaimed back and went to glomp him.
What a lucky encounter. Which isn't surprising since most things don't really go according to plan. It was nice to be in the presence of a long time friend. At last!
"I can't believe we bumped into each other half way."
"I know right, so typical of us. Let's go get some coffee!" she exclaimed.
"I have a better idea!" he said.
And that is how they spent the day chilling in jammies, watching movies and drinking home brewed coffee.
Just like that, time passed by so quickly. Plenty more simple adventures to strengthen their friendship through the years.
The time gaps didn't matter for not even the breaking dawn or the moon hidden within the clouds can dictate how timeless their friendship has been.
P.S. I have known him since 2009. I started off SL in a weird way but meeting him made my SL so bright (hilarious to be honest xD those days just gesture spamming and running around like silly noobs). Even if there were months we did not talk, whenever we did talk again, it was like no time has passed. To feel that way with someone especially in a medium like SL is a blessing. What was amazing is through the years our friendship transitioned more into RL. I will forever treasure our timeless friendship.

I reprocessed this photo for more clarity. Several years ago it was chosen for a magazine cover (see the first comment space below).
The coolest thing was our son came to visit, saw the photo on the magazine cover, and exclaimed, "Wow! That's an AWESOME photo!" Made me feel really good, and even better when I told him, "Thanks; it's mine."
(Notice on the magazine cover they actually reversed the image.)
These fox kit siblings were milling about at a migrant location on Lake Huron so we had to take a break from the birds to enjoy them. My 5 year old grandson upon viewing one of my fox images emphatically exclaimed to his Mom: "Never trust a fox."

Hi there. I am a flatbed Chevy truck. I used to carry pipe and fence wire and other important stuff, but I haven’t been on the road since 2008.
However, I am proud to be the biggest yard ornament in my owner’s front yard. I always hear the neighbors go by and exclaim, “Will you look at that huge, old truck in the front yard! I can’t believe that.” Apparently, I am appreciated.
When I first checked my viewfinder after snapping this photo, I was excited about those wonderful expressions of joy. My initial reaction was to crop the image to focus on those infectious smiles.
What I originally posted was good, but upon further review I think I made a mistake and screwed up the composition. I left out the proud parents in the background, and maybe most egregiously to my HFF friends, I eliminated the fence and ocean bokeh that nicely frames this shot.
In the spirit of continuous improvement I’m going to reissue this “mean streets photography” to it’s original format, with the added bonus that I can now exclaim, “Happy Fence Friday!”

“As the Dauphine stepped out of her carriage on to the ceremonial carpet that had been laid down, it was the Duc de Choiseul who was given the privilege of the first salute. Presented with the Duc by Prince Starhemberg, Marie Antoinette exclaimed: 'I shall never forget that you are responsible for my happiness!”

Megan Prumier and Mako Voxel are bringing Versailles to Valmoor for a party this Thursday!
((Because I told ate V that I will make kwento (story) to this post.. so here goes my possible failed attempt on creating a story))
*wink wink*
After exploring the vast land of Beira da Ribeira, my good ate (older sister) V and I found a familiar oasis in the middle of the jungle, "May tindahan pero walang bantay!" (there is a store without a "watchman") she excitedly exclaimed as she ran to the stairs going to the store, and I, sighing in relief, with heavy steps followed her.
She then immediately checked all that's in the store, giggled as she roll called the familiar brands of our Filipino chichiria (junkfoods) and candies. Her eyes widened as her gaze laid on her favorite Piattos, she opened and quickly munched on it. I was laughing as I watched her from the bangko (bench) in front of the store, smiled as I comfortably sat on a familiar chair, whole scene reminded me of the the good old days of my childhood when I and my kalaros (playmates) would make tambay (hangout) in front of my lola's (grandma's) sari-sari's (a store of every sort of) store.
Suddenly I was startled when I heard ate V shouted with a mouthful of Piattos and a Sarsi on her hand, "Walang may-ari! Simula ngayon, akin na ang tindahang ito!" (No one owns the store, so from now on, I own this!) , then she happily turned her back from me to check further what else was there and made a list of what could be good items to sell in the future. It had become Tindahan ni Aling Linda on that same day.
Then one by one kapitbahays (neighbors) came and bought "Colgate, yung Close-Up", "Safeguard, yung Giv", "Sunsilk, yung conditioner na pink", and so on and on until dapit-hapon (dusk) came, she told me how good this day was, how she missed the Philippines, and how impossible as this may seemed reminded her of the 50% of her genes.
At heart, we will always be a Filipino wherever life takes us. ♥
Thank you again ate V for the kwentos ♥

As a creature of habit, I have clamed a pull off spot that I now visit every time I depart Muscatatuck NWR. It is a great spot to clean and pack away my camera gear and rearrange my car prior to hitting the highway for the hour trip home. On a recent visit as I was exiting the refuge, and as if on queue, this Coopers Hawk came whipping through the woods to land abruptly on the front gate. We both just sat and stared at each other as if I was waiting for it to exclaim its desires.
Doing what comes natural, I stuck my lens out the window and took several shots as he sat and stared. It was then that I had a flashback from my youth, from a TV show that has long since been canceled, The Beverly Hillbillies. I guess it is a good sign of a great theme song if you can remember it 50 years later as the phrase “Ya’ll come back now, ya hear” was said aloud, mixed with a hint of laughter as I drove past the hawk. He was much more serious about our encounter than I.
