Hong Kong - Man Mo temple

Man Mo Temple is a temple for the worship of the civil or literature god Man Tai (ๆ–‡ๅธ) / Man Cheong (ๆ–‡ๆ˜Œ) and the martial god Mo Tai (ๆญฆๅธ) / Kwan Tai (้—œๅธ). The two gods were popularly patronized by scholars and students seeking progress in their study or ranking in the civil examinations in the Ming and Qing dynasties. There are several Man Mo temples in Hong Kong, this one is the largest and oldest, built in 1848. Source: Wikpedia

I wish I knew when I visited that it was a temple for scholars to seek progress in studies. I should have put up a candle.

Today I passed the last exam,

The end of the examination session, I regained freedom ha ha

Last week I finished my PhD examination at Tuebingen University. What makes more sense to show a photograph I captured together with friends of mine who were on my side during this project for a long time. Thank you guys - you are truly unique! For this photograph we went up the mountain for the third day in a row until the magic light finally happened.

Self-examination, carried out honestly,

Can be disappointing, even gut-wrenching

There I see โ€“ spots on my neck and streaks on my belly

Honestly speaking, theyโ€™re rather charming and pleasing

A close examination of this colourful mural will give its general location away.....note a number of Tasmanian Devils and the extinct Tasmanian Tigers. Another one of the archive shots I dug up from our brief 2013* trip in the rural Tasmanian town of Sheffield. This town had many fine murals and ten years ago was probably the best in Australia and our first real exposure to this form of artwork. Happy weekend everyone, I am way behind and will catch up with your kind comments from the last few days over the weekend. It's supposed to rain heavily in Brisbane (and be cooler) but I fear the much needed downpour may be a fizzer.

* The world is such a different place now compared to 2013, we might as well be on another planet. Sadly, many humans seem to actually be on another planet!

Examinations start now .. wish for me the best ..

Woman closely examining a work by Andy Warhol at the Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Springs, California

This photo had some issues: The front model's right hand was half-buried in the sofa and parts of his chest were missing, there were areas where the clothed model's shirt was clipping causing the skin to break through, and the background was far too bright and over-powering. All these issues were corrected in Photoshop and the image was cropped to a square format.

All human errors are impatience, a premature breaking-off of methodical procedure, an apparent fencing-in of what is apparently at issue.
