Crowds at Evolution Festival, Newcastle

I received an invite to participate in an exhibition in Lusaka , Zambia, to help raise funds for nature conservation. I kept thinking that I had to do something different and then I thought about painting this image onto a mirror, so that when you are coming to view the picture you see yourself, and then your image vanishes into the painting .... hence the title evolution. I do not know if it worked - what do you think? It was very difficult to photo on mirror, and yea, that is me that you see sticking out of the chimp, lol.

Selective adaptation in technology. Or modernizing old methods.

In the first half of the last century wind generation of electricity could be found all over rural America. It was the only means to electrify many rural homes before the electric grid, that we take for granted, was constructed. The method was used out of necessity. It proved not to be cost effective once the grid was constructed.

Politicians and promoters have a way to make almost anything look good. Within twenty years these windmills will be replaced with a new technology that is better, cheaper, more efficient. At least that will be the story.

And life will go on.

Well, the original photo was sad but this processed version reminded me of fossils.
