The theme at The Willows was "Bates Motel" - Addy showed up in this evil clown outfit and I just happened to capture this action shot. I love it

Was struck by the sheer absurdity of this scene as it unfolded in front of me as I turned a corner in the local grocery store recently. There I found a couple engrossed with this figure of an evil clown. The husband was attempting to activate its electronic horror routine (flashing eyes, maniacal laughter, etc) without much success. I saw that on one level, but my mind also saw a visual metaphor for parents that bring small children shopping. In particular ill-behaved youngsters that throw tantrums when parents won't buy them things they want. It looked for all the world like this evil little clown was about to be reprimanded and led forcefully from the Halloween candy isle. I had the trusty iPhone camera out in just seconds and captured the moment before it slipped away. Just as I prepared to walk off, the clown finally came to life, eyes blazing red and the sound of screaming laughter. The child tantrum analogy was complete!
Come on America, we're all counting on you to do the right thing. Vote like your democracy - and your lives - depend on it because they do! Please, PLEASE vote that vile and dangerous orange toxic waste of a President OUT of the White House!
I have to hope - in my heart of hearts - that there are enough good people to make the right, honourable, and morally better choice and say no to four more years of filling the swamp. Even if you don't think Biden is the right choice, one thing's for sure, among so many other things, he's not going to sit idly by and watch hundreds and thousands of Americans die a largely preventable death while simply shrugging his shoulders and saying, Oh well, "it is what it is".
