Merry Christmas to everone!
Rarely is there a winter like this in the Palatinate and the Palatinate Forest in Germany.
The snow never stays for long because the temperatures usually settle at 32 degrees Fahrenheit / 0 degree Celcius mark or mostly above.
But winter wonders happen sometimes : even at low altitudes the snow stays.
The picture was taken on the Kalmit (2204.724 feet/ 672 Meter above sea level and highest mountain of the Palatinate Forest) at 10,4 degrees Fahrenheit in the morning.

Selten gibt es so einen Winter wie diesen in der Pfalz und im Pfälzer Wald.
Der Schnee bleibt nie lange liegen, weil die Temperaturen sich meist bei oder über Null Grad einpendeln.
Aber einige Winter ist anders: Selbst in tiefen Lagen bleibt der Schnee liegen.
Das Bild entstand auf der Kalmit (672 m ü. und höchster Berg des Pfälzerwaldes) morgens bei -12 Grad.

For the today Theme Mysterious on MacroMonday I found some mysterious walnuts :-) I think the shape and texture of the walnuts look definitely mysterious especially if there are a some remains of the peel.
Unfortunately My brother got my old cam, so I had to crop a bit inside the picture.

That's one of my favourite spots to take photos in. Favourite because it's close to my house and I don't need to go far to take a nice shot. This time it was a sunset - on the left you can see a silhouette of a church that's located on a cemetery.
I took a low point of view to show mostly the young plants. The sky is an addition (but I believe quite a nice one).
Even with the use of Hitech graduated filter, it was difficult to keep out the sunlight on the right.

This little elephant was tired of his live as being only an earring, so he decided to run the coin-marathon. And that wasn't easy, I can tell you!! So give him a big applause, because he did it. Yeah, number 1 !!!!! ;-)

Took a short trip down to Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare. I didn't make the theatre but spent a lot of time down by the river watching the beautiful swans.

Faroe Islands / Føroyar
The Faroes are a spectacular archipelago in the North Atlantic. Their remotenss and cool damp climate do not favour tourism over much. Practically everone lives off the sea in one form or another. The Faroese are a hardy people, many deeply religious but despite having no oil or gas, want for little. To any photographer willing to brave the elements, they are well worth a visit.
Number 3 in my theme for this week Weather. Whilst driving through Seaford, East Sussex, UK in 2017 a sudden violent cloudburst caused everone to brak hard due to loss of vision as water cascaded down the windscreen.
Wellington is known for being windy as it lies by the channel (Cook Strait) which funnels wind between the North and South Islands. Windmills were seen from the ferry as we passed out of Tory Channel in the South Island.
Still on Holiday and wishing everone a very happy Christmas.

This is the view that everone takes a picture of and why not? It's probably one of the best in all of England...
Five months ago I stood here and captured a similar shot after we'd listened to the UK Prime Minister in the car broadcasting that the UK would go into Lockdown. During those months I visited here every other morning to get my daily exercise. (Evidently to no avail ) . You'd think that it would all be over? Well think again dear friends . We in Wales have had four counties put into Lockdown and it's looking more than likely that the UK Govt will do the same as it did 5 months ago. And me? well let's just say that it's not all over till the fat lady sings 😉

Established in the mid 1800's as the first Catholic church in the area,this old cemetery was restored in 2006.The church is long gone and the cemetery now sits on private property.The center section contains the broken remnants of the former cemetery,and it is all surrounded by a fence made of stones...

I would have finished my 100 project a while ago as I took many macros during summer, but at that time I thought I would bore everone. And now is December and I publish only my 95th.
View from the former RDM shipyard terrain on the 1913 enclave named Heijplaat.
This working-class housing quarter is situated quite isolated in the Rotterdam port area and has a quite unique character, being planned and constructed using so called Garden Village design principles.

If I had a dollar for everone of these I've ever made I'd be rich. I don't make them these days as it's much easier to buy them at the supermarket bakery.
Taken from the western undercliff, at the top behind the first clump of trees is a small park and play area. The tide is in and going into pegwell bay, you can just see the line of Flint going round the cliff, in the misty distance is the Pegwell nature reserve.
