This is one of four of my images that will be shown in the Narrative Photography Exhibition from September 20 - October 15 at the Downtown Arts Collective in Orlando, FL. This will be the first time I've appeared in a gallery so it's pretty exciting, although I won't be able to see it.

During my 10 day trip to Iceland over the last half of July, I had to return to one of my favorite sites for a unique human element image. So I drove up to Vik then over to this seaside section a little further north where I camped out a couple of nights to ensure I'd capture a few nice sunset and a sunrise image and this human element image.
So here's one of the sunsets I captured here.
In 2020 I'll be returning to Iceland again over the end of June but this time I'll be there for at least 3 weeks.

In 2020 I will be conducting 3 workshops in the US and one in Northern Scotland. For the one in Scotland, I will be collaborating with one of Scotland's finest landscape photographers and yes we'll be taking our attendees to the Isle of Skye which is a must shoot site.
During all US workshops, I will take my group out at night for Milky Way night sky photography.
Here is a list of my 2020 photography workshops

All workshops include Photoshop & Lightroom Milky Way post processing sessions covering latest Milky Way processing technique with image stacking.

A view I've photographed many times before, but this time I used a 60mm lens to get St Paul's bigger in frame. it is 2 x 30 seconds exposures in order to get the whole light trail from a party boat on the river. a bit of luck rather than judgement was that the first exposure ended as the boat passed the bridge support and by quickly releasing the shutter the second exposure caught the second half of the boat's passage by, meaning that I could join the 2 frames seamlessly! Spent the weekend in eastern Oregon scrambling around the giant rhyolite spires of Smith Rock. This beautiful (and still somewhat teneral) Calopteryx aequabilis female was a definite highlight!

I was going over some photos taken during my recently completed 3rd trip to Iceland and I came across for puffin images taken in quick succession.
While there I had visited a number of puffin sites and it's always a lot of fun to be able to get so close and watch them take off to the ocean then fly back.
This is a four image blend in Photoshop.

During all workshops, I will take my group out at night for Milky Way night sky photography weather permitting.

I'll see you all tomorrow for the event here in Montreal (link below). Not long after that is Toronto, Pittsburgh, Philly, Boston, then a gallery opening in Vegas. As for this photo, I took it this morning in Montreal at Notre-Dame. I've been to A LOT of cathedrals, but this one has perhaps the best backdrop (is that what's called?? who knows) that I've ever seen. It's probably tied with the backdrop of the cathedral in Lyon, France.

I had an amazing time at The Vessel in Hudson Yards at sunset. I probably walked up and down the stairs about 20 times to get different photos. I met a girl from Korea there while I heading upwards and she looked strangely at me... I asked why, and she said, "I thought all while people just took the elevator!"

This fantastic mite was actually found last February scurrying about a Phidippus audax's silken home where I suspect it was feeding on nearby elongated springtails. This little guy was an absolute pain to shoot - although I eventually managed a 5-shot stack of this hyperactive (yet obviously occasionally cooperative) beauty. The image is a severe crop from the Venus 60mm 2:1 macro on a full set of extension tubes - yielding ~4-5:1 magnification.
I was initially stumped as to what the hell he/she was, but after a bit of hunting - discovered the mite belonged to the genus Erythracarus. Long story short, I had our lab request the revision of the genus - only to be amazed that the paper had been written by Jurgen "Peacock Spiderman" Otto! Within hours, Otto himself commented on my post and identified my mite as "Erythracarus pyrrholeucus". Small world!

It's all about storytelling with vlogging even if you don’t have a YouTube channel, how to increase your client engagement with moving visuals and SO much more including how to get the best video quality and audio. One of the photos I took last night from the Herman Miller showroom of the iconic Palace Hotel neon sign in San Francisco. Last night was the cocktail party kickoff for the three day Neon Speaks symposium taking place in San Francisco this weekend.
