Uniswap NFT traders can now purchase their NFTs using any token on the Ethereum blockchain through a simplified interface, including stablecoins like USDC or Tether or even a meme coin like Shiba Inu.
How does it work? According to the blockchain startup, the new Universal Router contract from Uniswap "finds the most cost-efficient route" to carry out a swap from any Ethereum-based token into the required token for the NFT sales (typically Ethereum), and then sends that cryptocurrency to OpenSea's Seaport protocol to complete the transaction.
Uniswap is dramatically simplifying the NFT purchase process from the inside out for those who might need to exchange one cryptocurrency for another before purchasing an NFT.
A trader may, for instance, pay 1 ETH for an NFT by combining USDC and Tether, DAI and SHIB, or UNI, the native currency of Uniswap, with Chainlink. The business added that it would soon accept combining amounts from several different cryptocurrencies for a single NFT sale.
What does this mean for NFT traders? Current Uniswap traders who frequently exchange a big number of tokens on the platform are the target audience for the new feature. Additionally, users who are juggling liquidity may find it simpler to rapidly lock in the sales they want without having to manually move the tokens first. For those concerned about the tax effects of NFT trading, the fact that there will be one fewer transaction before making an NFT buy also means that there will be one fewer taxable event.
