Macro Mondays ~ Cotton
A vintage summer dress, with some bright happy colors and lacing detail on the side.
HMM to All!
LOVE these little old battery operated TVs! I can never resist one at a sale! PLUS they are SO photogenic!
This is one of quite a few tea sets I bought earlier in the year at a grand estate sale in New Orleans! It was still packed in the original box and I hadn't realized it even had a little wooden china cabinet! Made in Japan.

A friend called me Friday morning from an Estate sale in Kansas City...said there were cameras. After a few minutes of back and forth regarding condition I had him pick up this wonderful Retina Reflex for $40.
I've read that these cameras have shutter issues but this one appeared to work correctly and so I had it out Saturday morning for a visit to the Kansas City Renaissance Festival, and the results were very satisfactory.
The light meter appears to work though I didn't confirm accuracy, the focus is smooth and the viewfinder is surprisingly bright. The Reflex series of Retina cameras represented a significant leap forward for camera technology and represents one of the earliest SLR focus systems. The Reflex was manufactured between 1957 and 1958 and was replaced by a series of upgraded models through 1967.
One of the cool things about this camera is that it has a leaf shutter system versus a curtain shutter which is common in most SLR cameras. All things considered I think I got my money's worth on this beauty.
Pretty happy with what I found. Also found a couple of horse shoes, but I left those outside. They clearly brought me some luck today.
This vase found me at an estate sale it was just beaming on a table full of dark dreary items. Love the pale yellow swirls and lines. Now I need some fresh flowers!
My father-in-law found these in various garage sales or estate sales while in Oregon. I can't wait to get them cleaned up and try them out... especially the Adjustable Black Beauty from the 1970s and the Old Types(in the cases) from the 1920s.
Today I went to an estate sale that advertised vintage photos. I was there when the door opened and asked where the photos were, only to be told that most of them sold yesterday, when I was at work. What was left on the table in the music room (a former music teacher) was dismal. I did find a few nice ones in the dining room and then found this hand tinted woman with the lovely hat at the bottom of a box in the basement! It's 6.5 x 8.5"
Estate sale finds, and SO cheap. Unfortunately this was all I could grab. I had to shove the small pumpkins down the front of my jacket and grab the rest of it and run to the cashier because it was a blow mold feeding frenzy! What we do sometimes to get our junk....
That huge pumpkin is flat-backed, which I've never seen before.
I've been estate saling, rug hooking and hanging out with friends and my obese kitty this week. I know, I'm a party animal. Here's what one wears to my kind of party:

I went to an estate sale on Friday in Niles, Michigan, and found this amazing clock, in this box. The toilet clock is pink and WAS NEVER used. The birthday card was still inside from 1957!
$10.95 by 1957 is a lot of money. It only cost me $5.00 in 2010.
Under the lot of Barbie and Midge paper dolls that I got in a big giftbox at this same estate sale. And when I opened it! Jane and Michael Banks, Mary, Bert all their stuff!
