I can hear little clicks inside my dream.

Night drips its silver tap

down the back.

At 4 A.M. I wake. Thinking

The crystal wave, which, imperceptible to the ordinary sense, springs in the dark bosom of the mound against whose foot breaks the flood of the world, he who has tasted it, he who has stood on the mountain frontier of the world, and looked across into the new land, into the abode of the Night -- truly he turns not again into the tumult of the world, into the land where dwells the Light in ceaseless unrest.

About this one. I uploaded it before, and deleted it. I edited this a lot and... meh, I gueessee I'm okay with the outcome. But that's it, I'm just okay with it. Well, I don't know. It's gonna stay up. Ummm... yeah? And my bra is REALLY ANNOYING ME!!! argh!

I need to go out,

sleep. Meh. But, this weekend... I want to do something, even though I don't think I'm going to be able to. I have soo many ideas in my little head though. Argh, it's killing me that I really can't do any. I need good light, which is in the morning. I need model people (I don't want to use myself again). Ahhh, I love this feeling... so many ideas!!! Yay. All thanks to music... wohoo! Okay, enough. Back to memorizing Hamlet.

Two weeks after the flood we have now snow in Paris, very unusual for us. Like during the flood, all the parisian flickr are trying to capture this rare event.

A thoughtful gift given to us by some houseguests from abroad. Brought them outside to take a picture and immediately attracted a pollinating insect. (It’s not a bee.)

Featured in my photo essay “Flora in Focus.”

I would never call myself a car nut or car enthusiast, to be honest. A friend and I saw an advert for a car show some time back and we decided it was a good way to spend a warm Sunday afternoon. Our very first time at a vintage car show and it didn't disappoint.

So I have decided to start doing more things outside of my regular comfort zone. Never in a million years did I think about cars as a subject but trying something new is always Let's see how that goes. My blog post explains in a bit more detail and I've included the link to it in this caption.

I am so proud of this one, guys. Because this isn't the original image. This is actually a composite because I removed the background which was full of cars and people and changed the boring sky to this gorgeous blue. It's not perfect But I'm happy for the practice. Sometimes, you have to make your own reality....know what I mean? It's more about the craft and the feeling sometimes. ;)

To all of you, enjoy the weekend and have an awesome week ahead, wherever you are!

I'm still making my images using an old and simple 2009 version of photo manager software produced by ACDSee. And during the last two decades I've used it to produce 37,538 original image variations, only 4589 of which appear on Flickr - the rest sit on my hard-drive and now serve as an almost endless source of raw material for new abstracts. Not sure what to do about using AI to produce artwork. This old guy may just continue to use his 2009 copy of ACDSee. Cheers. H

I think I found my next photo essay. Interesting cars with my hasselblad. A very easy target though. This will be a work in progress.

At the start of this year when Graham’s 318 Coffee House in Geneva reopened after major renovations I popped in to tell the owner Bob how much I admired the new look. I mentioned that I especially enjoyed the meandering path that leads to the front door. I wondered aloud if it was deliberately made with such tight curves in order to slow folks down, as in some Japanese garden designs where paths can sometimes take an unexpected or abrupt turn in an effort to slow down the walker and make them more conscious of their surroundings. Bob replied that while that’s a beautiful principle that he was unfamiliar with, the real reason for the tight meander here is more functional: should the path from the sidewalk to the front door be a straight line, it would be too steep a grade for wheelchairs to make. I found this an interesting example of how our manufactured surroundings are a vibrant mix of both the aesthetic and the practical.

**Blue Miracle on a Snowy Background**

The blue tit, a magnificent little creature that we often pass by without stopping, is a true warrior of nature. Despite its apparent fragility, it faces our harsh winters without faltering. Ironic, isn't it? While we stay warm, this ball of feathers demonstrates its courage in the face of the cold. Perhaps we should take a lesson from it?

The txalaparta is a unique music ensemble of stones, woods and pipes and two players who beat out a rhythm that is musically a tour de force of co ordination.

It is an old form of music much in vogue in the Basque region of Spain but has suffered terminal neglect and as a result not much of it is known to the people. The genre of music originated as a mode of communication in the hilly regions of the Basque foothills from one village to another to announce funerals, making of cider etc etc.

There has been a steady resurgence of the music form over the last 15-20 years.

Maika and Sara Gomez are twin sisters from the Basque region who are one of the leading proponents of the txalaparta. They go by the name of "Ttukunak".

They make a fine sight while they play the exotic music and the sound of course to use the cliched term is -"awesome"

You can see a slideshow of photographs on the band's website ttukunak.ning.com/

Pentax K-1 Marck II + Sigma EX DG 28mm f1:1.8 Aspherical

"Je voudrais pas crever

Avant d'avoir connu

Les chiens noirs du Mexique

Qui dorment sans rêver

Les singes à cul nu

Dévoreurs de tropiques

Les araignées d'argent

Au nid truffé de bulles

Je voudrais pas crever

Sans savoir si la lune

Sous son faux air de thune

A un côté pointu

Si le soleil est froid

Si les quatre saisons

ne sont vraiment que quatre

Sans avoir essayé

De porter une robe

Sur les grands boulevards

Sans avoir regardé

Dans un regard d'égout

Sans avoir mis mon zobe

Dans des coinstots bizarres

Je voudrais pas finir

Sans connaître la lèpre

Ou les sept maladies

Qu'on attrape là-bas

Le bon ni le mauvais

Ne me feraient de peine

Si si si je savais

Que j'en aurai l'étrenne

Et il y a z aussi

Tout ce que je connais

Tout ce que j'apprécie

Que je sais qui me plaît

Le fond vert de la mer

Où valsent les brins d'algues

Sur le sable ondulé

L'herbe grillée de juin

La terre qui craquelle

L'odeur des conifères

Et les baisers de celle

Que ceci que cela

La belle que voilà

Mon ourson, l'Ursula

Je voudrais pas crever

Avant d'avoir usé

Sa bouche avec ma bouche

Son corps avec mes mains

Le reste avec mes yeux

J'en dis pas plus faut bien

Rester révérencieux

Je voudrais pas mourir

Sans qu'on ai inventé

Les roses éternelles

La journée de deux heures

La mer à la montagne

La montagne à la mer

La fin de la douleur

Tous les enfants contents

Et tant de trucs encore

Qui dorment dans les crânes

Des géniaux ingénieurs

Des jardiniers joviaux

Des soucieux socialiste

Des urbains urbanistes

Et des pensifs penseurs

Tant de choses à voir

A voir et à z-entendre

Tant de temps à attendre

A chercher dans le noir

Et moi je vois la fin

Qui grouille et qui s'amène

Avec sa gueule moche

Et qui m'ouvre ses bras

De grenouille bancroche

Je voudrais pas crever

Non monsieur non madame

Avant d'avoir tâté

Le goût qui me tourmente

Le goût qu'est le plus fort

Je voudrais pas crever

Avant d'avoir goûté

La saveur de la mort..."
